Yeah agree with 2ax, the only way to know is to do test it yourself.

For example, I live in South East London and O2 has the worst coverage (0-1 bars!), even 3 is better!

find that hard a 3 uses o2 network

not if it has its own 3g coverage
  • A while back I was working with my dad we had between us an o2 phone an orange phone and a vodaphone ( all nokias I think). As we were driving all over the uk we got a good idea of what the coverage was like for each network. To be honest I don't think one was much better than the other. Sometimes one would have a great signal whilst another would have very little or no coverage. Ten minutes later the situation could be reversed. If you spend your time in certain places most often then get an idea of the signal there.

Thats what I thought at first, but as 2ax pointed out 3 are giving me 3g reception, and I still haven't had a drop call yet. I can't make calls with O2 anymore!!

If you do a manual network selection on your handset you will see how the different operators compare in that particular location.

    On a common Nokia menu:
    Settings
    Phone settings
    Network selection
    Manual
    Select

Your default operator will always be at the top of the list with any other available operators shown in signal strength order. i.e. if you are on Orange, try, temporarily a different operators SIM to your default one.

Depends on where you are in the UK, all networks have different levels of coverage depending on where you are!!

I will say I am in the South Glos area and I get poor reception
with Orange but Voda is much better, and O2 is also poor.
