But if you call them you can get it at the Website Price, which they tell me is £49.99 for the £45/Mth Contract told the guy it was free in the Shops on that tariff but they wouldn't budge as they give you £5/Mth of the Line Rental.

Plus with it not being listed on the Website you can't get the £50 QuidCo.

Noticed Phones 4U have it as free on Orange at £35/Mth Tariff and you get QuidCo.

it's on the website (found it last night) , so quidco now possible

also, if you are considering the £40 ish pm contracts, I see that with panther 40 and 45 you can opt for the 250MB web bundle saving 7.50 I think.

I originally read that orange would have the 8MB version, and it doesn't specify on the orange website which one it is. I've also seen some third party sellers who seem to be offering 16MB on orange...

    Pretty.

As an aside, the major updates between this new batch of phones and the old ones are the software. Although the hardware is slightly updated (marginally quicker CPU and a WQVGA screen (and I think the Diamond and Touch Pro are full VGA(?))), they offer a different interface and updated graphics capabilities through software.

Funnily enough, geeks buy these phones and pull apart the software to see how it works. They then post the software on the internet for people with similar hardware to make use of. So, for example, if you buy an Omnia and prefer the Diamond interfce you can normally obtain a copy. Similarly, if you have an older but still usable TyTN II and like the QWERTY keyboard (or are tied into a contract), you can get copies of the updated files for the Omnia from places like here.

Anyway, I might have a pop into the Orange shop in a bit...

It is fairly normal for a phone to get warm when charging or under heavy use, particularly in the summer, although if it becomes uncomfortable to hold this might indicate a problem with the battery.

Girlfriend got this today, it is a very nice phone. The build quality is much better than my N95 8gb, unfortunately i'm not a fan of windows on mobiles, it is unecessarily long winded to carry out certain tasks.

Orange only do the 16GB Version and it comes unlocked or all the ones so far have.

Nice phone excellent build quality and nice features but not for me, I am sad to say had it since Friday lunchtime, but it's going back.

I like it but just not enough to justify the cost and outlay. Run O2 CoPilot 7 on it and tried the Garmin Samsung GPS Software both worked well. Also really like the Mouse control pad although I thought I wouldn't, and the size and look of the Omnia is superb, plus the extra Storage Space.

But I found myself having trouble with some of the Apps I already have and run and most of the Games with the screen format/resolution, some wouldn't run at all although they work fine on my WM 6.0 Orbit 2 and others displayed two thirds of the screen.

Plus whilst the touch interface was a nice touch you couldn't customise it enough for me. Wanted to add say Flexmail on the front screen to replace email & SMS, plus replacing Calendar/Contacts etc with Pocket Informant.

The other thing I didn't like is the power/usb connection port when sat in a holder on the dash I can't get access to the port and therefore can't power it to use for SatNav for any distance.

So had my play with it for a day tried to get it the way I wanted it but to no avail, or by disabling the touch interface that makes it so easy to use. One of the biggest things for me was Web browsing but have managed to download a copy of Opera 9.51 Beta which is the same or very similar to that on the Omnia but on my WM 6.0 device.

Lets just hope I can return it now under the 7 day rule distance selling as it only arrived Friday.
    Cheers
