Our latest 'pets' are 2 Macleays Spectre stick insects. Sounds a bit strange, but they're really interesting to watch :D

I'd show you all a piccy, but dont know how

I had stick insects as pets when I was growing up!!! Not sure what type they were, a friend gave them to me as she had a whole shed full of them, so everyone in our 'group' got some to keep!

We also had a rabbit (Fluffy), 2 mice (Bubble and Squeek, which had loads of babies that we used to sell to local pet shops), a pair of lovebirds (Romeo and Juliet), a Cockatiel (not sure on spelling, called Charlie - he flew away as my Dad forgot he was on his shoulder and went out the back door, Parents bought a new one, as me and Sis were away at Brownie Camp, and tried to pass it off as the original!).

We had a Bassett Hound when I was a toddler called Tara (don't remember her, but seen pics and she was re-homed when Mum had my Sis as she couldn't cope). Then a German Shephard called Bruno (the one who scared the cat) and now a gorgeous Dobermann called Tia.

As well as the 5 cats mentioned already, we had another cat called Cara, who we took off someone as they were re-homing her....actually, I think that's why the cat Charlie moved out as he got the hump!

That's a lot of pet food, insurance and vet bills over the years....no wonder Mum keeps saying 'no more pets'! ;)

My Boyf's family Dog is a Dalmation called Boddingtons (or Bods for short).

Ours look more like leaves than sticks Boris - here

We only have 2, but are hoping they will lay eggs soon ;)

Also part of our family are 2 cats, a very large dog and some fish. We've done rats in the past, and they were lovely :D

    Part of the Furniture
I'd love a veg patch but i can't even grow tomatoes, so don't fancy my chances much with anything else!!

We have the space, but i don't have the knowledge... and Big G wouldn't have the inclination.. but then he does work outdoors, so wouldn't want to come home and have to do more horticulture!!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)
  • It's a brill book cat and lots of practical hints in it as well. I bought mine cheaply in sales, have a look around as lots about!

  • I agree Cat-very good and I am a TOTAL novice!

Things with OH are going well Bob, thanks for asking-we are getting along great and the 'lines of communication' are remaining open and he seems to have realised he had a few 'issues' as well! A miracle really, lol

OH is going to make me the raised beds later in the year and then I will get it prepped a do a bit of winter sowing...not sure what I need to do but the book helps! lol
