I've had samples of solid shampoo from mail order, you are more likely to get them when you are placing an order though I find - especially over the phone ;)

There is a swops forum on the lush board where you can pick up things cheaply to try out.

We like the Karma Komba bar best, my dp especially loves it. I find it takes a while to get used to Lush shampoos as they don't have silicones in so you don't always get they squeaky clean slippy feeling, the conditioners are very good too :)

I LOVE lush's caca. I use the marron (which has coffee in it already - smells delicious on my hair) and best mate uses rouge. We grate ours (in the box that some washing powder liquid tablets came in) and just cover it with water from the kettle and mush it round until it, well, resembles non-lumpy poo!

We then vaseline hairlines, necks and ears, slop on the caca, wrap the head in cling film and go about the rest of the day. We tend to caca on Sundays and I pop a towel on the cushions when I want to nap!

I've got short hair so use 2 cubes and best mate has wonky hair (chin length bob one side, graduating to v short on the other) and she uses 3.

We tend to leave it on for at least six hours and then rinse out. Using a comb between the first and second washes means the clotty bits come out. We also use a really cheap shampoo (tesco value!) after that so that it doesn't matter about how much we have to use to get the hair clean.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

  • I do fancy trying Lush solid shampoos & the conditioner bar they have, but, I've been informed, via email from Lush mailorder, only the Lush shops offer any samples. However, I don't live close to a shop, so have been purchasing items via their website.

If anyone can recommend their shampoos, I might give em a go regardless. Could always resell on ebay ;)

I use their shampoo bars, have tried several over the years, I especially like Karma Komba and Ultimate Shine.. the Godiva smells lovely but I found it irritated my scalp. They all last for absolutely ages & I think if you buy two, you get a free shampoo bar tin

    Hope that helps!

Have you tried the solid conditioner?

I was thinking about trying the Seanik shampoo.
  • Forgot to ask: how often do folks apply Caca?
  • Have you tried the solid conditioner?

I was thinking about trying the Seanik shampoo.

I have tried the solid shampoo, but I've got thick dry curly hair & it wasn't conditioning enough for me & difficult to apply... I find Retread much better..

    Not sure about the Seanik..

I have dark, fine straight hair.

Thanks for the forum link too :)
  • Is it dyed? If it's not too dry then Lush hair stuff should suit you - see what smells best I would say! Personally I like Retread conditioner (although is a pain to use) and I Love Juicy shampoo if my hair really needs a deep clean. Used to love Gentle Lentil solid shampoo but it's discontinued.
