    I've been Money Tipped!
I printed my Glenlivit coupon out in photo quality print (as I have loads of ink to use and) on inkjet quality paper.

The barcode is perfect but the other writing isn't the best quality, has anyone else found this?

Makes it look a bit dodgy.
  • nope mine looked fine after printed on the thicker paper that i use for higher value coupons and they accepted it no probs this morning in my local mr T's

Nope Tesco have implimented only 5 coupons per visit and only on food items now (this is in Nottingham)they just lost a customer. anywhere else in Nottingham to go now? :'(
Five coupons are better than nothing specially if you can get a Glenlivet - which I will buy as a treat for Christmas if the coupons is sent so £2 off is good :T - but be warned that this too may be stopped as my local T has had mothers going in with small children and using 5 coupons against their shop then giving the kids a coupon each to buy something knowing it is not allowed but making SA's feel mean to refuse a child - I have been told that if this keeps happening T are going to stop taking coupons altogether as some customers find ways of continuing to abuse T goodwill in accepting coupons. It also gets the SA into trouble so they either face a scene with angry mother and crying child or a telling off by their boss - not fair to the SA's.I was behind someone who actually did this and the SA was very upset at being put in that position and told me she was taking it up with her union!!!!
5 coupons are better than none but some people are even abusing/spoiling this for the rest of us

I don't get to use coupons much either but like it when I can and have just received the Glenlivet one - which I intend to buy but it does not have the 'tick' like couponnet so I am beginning to wonder if T will accept it
I am new to forums and posted in the none chat by mistake but be warned:mad: at my local T there is a 5 coupon limit but I was behind a woman the other day who used her 5 coupons and then handed coupons to her children who then wanted to buy their sweets with a coupon each and the SA was very upset at being put in this position as it is happening a lot
She said that she either ends up with a crying child and angry mother and it makes her look mean or she gets hell from her boss for taking the coupons and either way it is a horrible position to be put in and she was taking it up with her union!!!!
It seems that some people are never satisfied - 5 coupons is better than none but even now people are trying to abuse it and the SA said that her manager was fed up with the hassle and was giving it a 'little bit longer' and would stop coupons altogether if staff were upset in this way by people abusing T goodwill
It will stop I am sure due to a few greedy people who can't stop trying for more
  • Hi,

I went to my local tesco who i have had no trouble with in the past and they seem be unsure of the policy.

I had a £40 shop and £10 worth of Manufacturers vouchers, not even internet coupons and i was taken to customer services, with no reason whatsoever as to why or what was going on...

I waited duly while the SA spoke to the manager on the phone a who came back saying 10% value, then i showed them their policy which i had an email of. I then had to wait for the floor manager who then said that they have this in their staff room and they then changed their tune and said that they can accept one non tesco product coupon because they hung on the a before the "where happy to accept a non-tesco product coupon"

    the email from T's
"All Tesco specific coupons display the Tesco logo. We'll only accept these at the till if you buy the product shown on the coupon at the time.

We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager."

I protested that if it was one coupon, it would say that they will accept one not "a"!!

Then the manager said he will accept them all ,:j only to have the assistant who seemed to be pushing the manager around, to say it is on your head and you need to put it in writing at which point he changed his mind again and said he will then accept one without buying the item!!

I was so fed up that i just said to leave it and paid and went. :o

I was wondering if any one else had had the same problem in harrow or more joy at getting a straight answer from them..

a very confused and annoyed T's costumer.. if it carry on like this i will go to Sainsbury..

    Totally agree with you!
Fed up with different responses from tesco staff.
Don't blame the people on the tills as they are only following instructions from stre managers or supervisors.
I have to add that most of these 'young' supervisors all talk to you like you've crawled out from under a rock for using vouchers.
Having recently phoned CS and been reassured that Tesco policy is still to accept one of any coupon without buying the product and upto one more coupon of any product you have bought:confused:

I still get told by supervisors and till staff that their manager says you need to purchase the item:mad:

Went to CS in store and was refunded cost of vouchers and again told policy was what I understood it to be.:j
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them
  • I have been told that if this keeps happening T are going to stop taking coupons altogether as some customers find ways of continuing to abuse T goodwill in accepting coupons.

Mr T has no goodwill. It is a hard nosed busines that takes mocs as a way of cornering even more of the market.
