I have been to my local Tesco Extra this morning swiped my send moc (Mitchin £1.50 off), normally assistant comes over and enters code into machine for me to use them. Today she came over undid the machine and said I couldn't use the vouchers as they were not legal.
She shouted another assistant over and she said the same thing and also that each coupon must have the box with a tick on it. Veri sign I think she called it.
Never mind, it was good while it lasted. Just as long as they dont try and claim any of the money back. I wasnt aware that it was not legal and not sure whether this site should be promoting these coupons.0 -
I am just back from my local Tesco Extra and I'm not happy!   My local Tesco has been great and have never had a problem using any coupons until today! The SA would only take the ones for items that I had purchased, he had a disciplinary this morning because he took some coupons that he shouldn't have.
I went to the Customer Service Desk to check if the store policy had changed, as far as the staff on the desk were aware nothing had changed. They called the checkout team leader and he confirmed that the store policy had changed earlier this week.
Bet you have guessed why! Yep there are have been people in the last month who have been severely abusing the policy. On Thursday night the SA that served me took £150 of coupons on a £160 spend, a number of the coupons were copies so could not be redeemed by Tesco. How someone has the time to look for enought coupons to add up to that amount I don't know, they need to get out more! It wasn't the SA's fault but he ended up in trouble because of an irresponsible shopper using coupons:mad:  .
I had a good chat with the checkout team leader and it wasn't a decision that was taken lightly to change the policy as the store make a lot of money from the coupons but as it was starting to cost the store money the manager felt that it was time to do something about it.
I can see the store's point but it really isn't fair that everyone countrywide who does not abuse the policy is penalised due to misuse by the minority. The team leader said that they knew who the people were and they had their names as they had been using their clubcards, I suggested they ban them from the store but he said they couldn't do that.
As a result of these people my local store will now only take 1 coupon if you don't buy the product for the forseeable future.
He did take another 4 from me and gave me the cash for them and said if I had any further problems to ask for him.
It would be better if a national policy limiting the number of coupons per transaction was introduced, a sensible limit to stop people abusing it.
The staff were quizzing me on where I found the coupons and as to how many can be printed etc, they thought that all of them had an unlimited number of times they could be printed. Told them that the couponnet ones you can only get 2 so they said that would be reported back to the manager.
It was good while it lasted but all of these people up and down the country who are abusing the policy and being greedy should take note as they are going to end up spoiling it in all stores for everyone. The ways things are going all stores will soon only accept vouchers if you buy the product.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

What arn't legal - the green mitchum coupons?
I use these all the time at Boots and all the supermarkets.0 -
I think there's confusion about this 'legal'.
I'm thinking that what people mean by 'illegal', or fraud, is people copying or printing multiple sheets or coupons such as couponstar/couponnet where it's clearly stated you're only entitled to 2.
What's illegal about Mitchum (or Fruittiser or Cow&Gate dairy etc..) coupons? They don't have a verified tick thingy for the simple reason they they are not powered by Couponnet, as many self-print coupons aren't. Plus such there's nothing to say they are only 1 or 2 per person, so presumably nothing at all wrong with printing a few of these type.0 -

Maybe we should bombard eBay with complaints about this listing? They have two listings so I think we should report both!:mad::mad:

Do people have no shame!?!? Charging £7.99 for something anyone can print off themselves??!?! (and something that is meant to be 1 per person)
Good idea about reporting it.0
