Tesco Coupon Update (being briefed to staff)

We do not accept damaged, copied or defaced coupons
All coupons can be used on self service checkouts
The Store Manager may use their discretion to refuse coupons if they believe a customer is abusing the policy

    Supplier Coupons:

Issued by suppliers such as coca cola etc
No limit on how many different coupons can be presented
Only one supplier coupon can be accepted per item not purchased
If the coupon does not scan type barcode manually

    Competitors' Conditional Spend Coupon:
We can accept competitor conditional spend coupons from - Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi, Marks & Spencers, Co-op and Boots
Coupon must state its for use in store
For all conditional spend coupons, more than one coupon can be used providing the conditional spend is met, i.e. 2 x £3 off £30 shop, £60 must be spent

    Competitor Product Coupon

eg save 50p on fruit at asda

    We do NOT accept these

    Internet Coupons

Issued by suppliers such as coca cola etc
No limit on how many different coupons can be presented
Only one branded coupon can be accepted per item not purchased
Coupon can be in colour or black & white but must not look like a photocopied coupon
For coupons for the same product, ensure the serial numbers are different
If a coupon does not scan, type barcode manually

    Hope this helps!!

  • T Chester have clear notices up stating there policy; at every till, one shop per day; and can bring the shopping anything up to half price with copouns. But does state: this store only policy clearly, so must vary from strore to store, but the signs are clear and to point; so no cashier changing rules, they should do this in every store, make the rules clear and fair.

If only all stores would do this, then at least the staff would know what they are doing!:rotfl:

Hmmm...maybe, but I tend to think it's best if the coupon policy is only known as a word-of-mouth and forum discussion thing.

Personally I would hate to see signs about it instore, I love the fact that we know something other customers don't know about saving money. If they all knew, many more people would try all sorts of rubbishy/out of date/Sainsburys coupons and Tesco couldn't continue to allow it as much as they do.

    Daily newspaper summary here:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1379469

I had a quick look and it's good news if you coupon in Waitrose...there's a juicy £2.90 moc. NOT for Tesco use though of course, they can't get the money back on this.

The only paper worth buying for a little extra spends in Tesco would be the Express, it has the £1 off OK & Hot Stars moc (valid today only) and the 20p off the next Express, I think...click on the link to check as this is off the top of my head...

Thanks pawpaw, I hope the moderators can see that this Chat thread works with coupon links posted on it too.

We simply don't need an out-of-date sticky where we cannot post for fear of deletion!

P.S. I don't know why, but my internet connection has failed each time I have tried to click on the Pedigree coupon link ('Internet Explorer has found a problem and has to close'). I got this coupon successfully before, a few months ago, but this time sadly it won't connect without crashing.
