I am so pleased for you and I think the panel need one of these too :T
  • yes i agree they where fantastic. they made things so much easier. it was such a relief not to have to face the panel. i really appreciated them being so thoughtful and realiseing that i wouldnt be able to cope with an all male panel.

  • i would also like to say that my award was for two years. my welfare rights officer said that as it has taken almost a year to sort things out then that two year period would be over in twelve months time. she gave me the name of a female gp who specialises in my conditions and recommended that i change my gp to her. this gp happens to be the same gp that originally treated me for depression 19 years ago and i remember how sympathetic and helpful she was.
my welfare rights officer told me that when it does come up for review then i would have an excellent chance of getting a much higher award because we can present the case properly from day one.
what my case shows is just how fair and sensitive a tribunal can be and how much difference a good welfare rights officer can make. i will definatly be letting her handle my case when the time does come. she was amazing.
i had used a different wro for my original claim form and she made a right mess of my form. not giveing anywhere near enough detail it was rushed and very poor. i changed my wro a few days before my appeal.
i would also like to thank everyone on here for there support through this difficult period and the wonderful advise i recieved
