( i have no idea where it came from now)
Millie’s cookies
3oz butter;
3oz granulated sugar;
3oz muscovado sugar;
Tsp vanilla extract;
1 egg;
6oz self raising flour;
Pinch salt;
4oz of choc chips or raisins or dried apricots or whatever you want to add.
Method: preheat oven to 180 degrees; mix all ingredients together; put spoonfuls onto trays covered with greaseproof paper; cook for 11 minutes.
i just put mine on silicone on top of the baking tray
asda are doing the choc chips, white, plain or milk, 2 bags for £1 just now
we tried the fudge chips, they were uber sickly sweet
cherries are also lush in them0 -
This is a pretty foolproof recipe we use in our house...
4oz butter
4oz golden caster sugar or soft light muscovado
vanilla extract
1tbsp golden syrup (keeps them chewy)
6oz self raising flour
chocolate chips or smarties
cream the butter, sugar and vanilla, add the golden syrup and half the flour, keep mixing and add the rest of the flour and the chocolate chips. Form into walnut (in shell) size balls and place on a greased tray. Bake at 180C for 12 mins, you don't want them well done, just turning a bit brown, they will still be quite raised when in the oven but flatten out as they cool. Transfer to a wire rack before they're totally cooled or they may break apart if you try it when they're cold. I vary this recipe, replacing some of the flour with cocoa to make double choc chip ones or the other day I added strawberry flavouring, pink colouring and white choc chips - the boys said they looked a bit girly but tasted nice!Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0 -

Mini Marshmallows are fantastic in cookies, they go all gooey and chewy, like toffee. Have to try the after8 ones, they sound lovely"Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"

Preferably with some mixed spice or cinnamon in....
I've found a recipe on the Carnation website using condensed milk but I only have "light" condensed milk! (and I'm not sure if it will work:eek:)
My other half likes these type of soft cookies but I've so far failed to find a recipe...don't suppose any of you kind people have any ideas - I'm not very brave at adapting choc chip cookie recipes to the flavour I want lol ;-D:wave:0 -
Hi noonesperfect,
I don't know whether the light condensed milk will work or not, hopefully someone else will be able to advise, but to get that soft chewy texture I turn the oven down a little and take the cookies out when they're not quite done....if that makes sense??
There are lots of tips and some recipes and links on these threads that may help:
Does anyone know how to make cookie shop cookies??
I wanna make some cookies!
Chocolate Chip Cookies (millies recipes too) I know you don't want choc chip recipes but there is good advice on this thread too.
