Polkadot - to clearn the TV:
1. Use a microfibre cloth, and if not, the softest one you can find, as LCD scratches easily
2. If you can, use a diluted isopropyl alcohol solution made of water and at most 50% isopropyl alcohol - of course, you may not have this lying around the house, and I don't know whether gin or vodka would do instead (like they do for jewellery), but if they're diluted, and the water-only option below doesn't work, it might be worth a try (or drink the vodka instead). Use this to dampen a microfibre or soft cloth, and rub the marks gently.
3. If you don't have isopropyl alcohol, use a damp (not wet) microfibre cloth to gently clean away the marks. Don't press any harder than you absolutely have to.
4. Once you've got the marks off, go over the whole screen with a damp cloth, then polish off to make it look clean all over.
If you want me to try the gin/vodka options on my work LCD screen (I have one at home, which is nice of them!) before you try it on your TV, let me know. It's not quite so important, and I can try it in a corner that doesn't count.
Fingers crossed...0 -

Morning everyone, bit crazy yesterday bo escaped out of his home made pen in the livingroom. We put him in before we went out to do the cattle and come in to find him in the hall:mad: , we don't know if he managed to climb over the table or bull right through the fire graud but either way he wouldn't walk much yesterday so we think he may have put to much weight on the bad legs or he's caught his external bar_pale_ . He's got up fine this morning and walking about, i let him out in the garden for a pee and he dissapeared into the planting (small forest) so off i go in my bright pink dressing gown and slippers to find him. He was fine just sitting in the middle of it all and followed me into the house (he's so missing being outside), now he's lying sleeping and has the vet to see friday.
Really tired today, didn't sleep well too worry incase the escape artist got out again.:rotfl:
Oh good grief! They always seem to do more than you think they can; when my dog pulled her drains out I was only a few yards away but she moved so fast I couldn't stop her before she disappeared into the shrubs:eek:
:rotfl: at Bo sitting in the planting! Would love to know what goes through their minds when they do this stuff! My vet said Staffies do have a very high pain threshold, it's just such a worry when you are trying to stop them doing themselves any damage.I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Douglas Adams0 -
Had lunch so just going to get sorted and take the dogs for a walk. Need to go and get DH some slippers as well so I'll probably do that when we come back.
DD wanted to take the dogs to the park but I've told her that Brandy can't walk that far and you're not supposed to let dogs off their leads in the park anyway. To which she wanted to know why and why!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Morning ladies
Polkadot relieved that the tv has been sorted - you could tell your OH how helpful and supportive the flyladies were but then the cat would be out the bag. My family think it is hillarious that I am a flylady and often ask me what you are all upto. DS2 loves you all after you voted him a pocket money pay rise.
Serena I hope DS1 has a great time - I think one of the flyladies is off to reading, could be Vivv
G&B I hope you coped with the little one's first day and that she had a great time
MOAM hugs hun
I've done my dalies and taken kids to town for eye tests and visited the bank whilst there for DH.
Plan to finish sorting the last cupboard in the family room before my friend comes and then will start the living room later after tea - kids have table tennis table up in there so there is no room to clean. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thanks ladies DK he can joke all he likes about how I get the housework done but I dont think we'll tell him about this one:D But I have to ask you something-all of you, Ive always been too scared to ask but you all seem like you might not have me for breakfast for it:)
Whats the definition of tea?
I only grew up with Breakfast, lunch and supper (which was also called dinner)
So mealtimes are incredibly confusing now when Im speaking to "locals".0 -
Some people use the word tea in place of the evening meal, which I've always called dinner, whereas other people have afternoon tea (between lunch and dinner).
Personally I use the terms, breakfast, lunch, dinner. We usually have tea (a cup of with cake or biscuits) around 5pm. Of course there is elevenses too (a small snack at 11am). I think supper is meant to be after dinner, so in theory it's possible to have breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner, supper.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Afternoon all
I stripped my bedding today but I'm not washing it until tomorrow because I already have two loads. They are washed and were hung out until it rained. Some of it even dried.
I dusted and vacuumed all the bedrooms, vacuumed the bathroom/toilet and down the stairs. Then dusted the living room and vacuumed right through downstairs.
I've cut the grass front and back and edged it and swept up.
I think I'm caught up now from not doing anything yesterday.
I was going to say more but I've forgotten what's been going on so I'd better not start or I'll miss something out. Best wishes to anyone who wants them anyway.
Dinner (lunch?) is cooking - cottage pie in the oven.
Oh, and the Red Arrows went over earlier, flying really low. I was very excited.0 -
note to self:buy alcohol.)
... if only to help deal with the stressYou've obviously had a very productive day despite this - but maybe you'd better sprinkle some dust on the TV so OH doesn't notice how clean it is!
Tea - I use this either for a cup of tea and a biscuit/piece of toast/slice of cake at around 5ish (OK, so I actually try not to do this), or for an early supper (we used to call it 'high tea') around 5/6ish - particularly when I was at school and used to get home starving and needed to eat early!
I have lunch in the middle of the day, and supper in the evening, unless it I've got guests and have made an effort, in which case I might upgrade it to dinner!
I think traditionally dinner was the main meal of the day, and for the upper classes was in the evening during the week but in the middle of the day on Sundays (when the servants had their evening off!). Lunch tended to be around 12, dinner any time from 4-9pm depending on whether you were living in the country (early hours) or London (late) or somewhere in between. Supper was a light meal just before bed (so again, during the season in London, often in the early hours of the morning!).
I like sexymouse's theory of having 6 meals a day:o I'm sure there's a diet somewhere that does this... I'm just off to look for it;) Then again, is there time for anything else in between the cooking and washing up?!0
