As you will see from the links below I have been trying to help people
as Daewoo keeps changing their conditions

my unit was replaced months ago so I cant claim again.

I was the person Watchdog got in touch with to highlight the problem
and I was the person who supplied two of the people interviewed on that Program.

If it was not for me and a few others many people would never have claimed
and I have been doing all this for free so getting a Daewoo employee to attack me is very rich indeed.

Brian.........

Is it, or is it NOT you, that has offered 20 quid for these units?

So far as I can tell it 'maybe' you that contacted Watchdog. But 'MAYBE' ur a very slippery character ;)

As for backing up Daewoo, im pretty certain that neither me nor Espresso work for them........

IF your legit, Id suggest you please explain WHY you offered 20 quid for that unit?

• I've been following the split NIT thing on various AV boards and only just googled this thread and saw the latest comments here which seemed slightly at odds to the DS post - hence my ODD first ever post! No offence was meant as I have seen a lot of very useful info posted all over various boards by Brian, but the £20 offer for a dead unit (with receipt) seemed strange? I am actually more interested in seeing what Freeview/DMOL/Digital UK/manufacturers do on DSO when 100s of 1000s of (not inexpensive) IDTVs (Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi, Philips & Toshiba) as well as the original ONDigital boxes fail as their hardware cannot cope with the 2k/8k switch. Digital UK say that these TVs can be upgraded ...... with a new separate Freeview box!
• I was trying to help a person get a receipt as many people have been in touch with me and I have not been doing it for any financial gain.

It was Daewoo that changed the Goalposts and not me.

I am currently in regular communication with six Daewoo Customers who have searched high and low but they cant find their original receipt and one of them asked me if I could find/buy a receipt .

My intention was to pass it onto them as after all there is nothing illegal about buying secondhand goods.

This new Condition was forced on ‘ Genuine Customers ‘ who were not as quick off the mark as some of us were.

As you will see at

http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/blog/2008/07/more-freeview-boxes-become-obsolete.html#comment-6851

I also posted my Post Code !! delivery number etc etc } which is not something I would do if I was trying to run a fiddle.

I already own three PVR’s which is more than enough for me.

If Daewoo had built their units to the full DVB-T standard all these dead units would still be working today and it would have saved a lot of hassle that Customers have had to endure.

by the way if you don't belive me then contact

Claire.Dutfield@bbc.co.uk

who works for Watchdog and was in touch with me ' two weeks ' before Watchdog reported the problem.

They wanted to contact people who were willing to be filmed and after I had requested their permission they were phoned up by a Team of Watchdog's researchers.

Most of the people who have contacted me and who originally bought a
Daewoo VCR/Digital Receiver SV900 are retired so they cant afford to right it off - !! When it was first sold it cost £ 130 in 1994.}

I am not getting into a lengthy discussion the people who I have helped in the past all can verify that I passed on the information for free.

So far ten people with my help were able to get a replacement although when they originally contacted Daewoo they were sent a ' Stock e-mail ' only offering a £ 10 discount.

My only interest is to help people get a replacement although this is not helped by Daewoo changing their conditions.

I was able to get a replacement without showing a receipt so its very strange of Daewoo asking others to do so now.
