I'm just wondering if you might get yourself and this forum into trouble by publishing the email addresses - especially in a form that can be "harvested" by spamming software.

No reason why I would, I've published nothing confidential. Look at the times CEO's email addresses are put online, this isn't infrequent.

Besides I obtained his address in a simple way - I googled all email addresses ending in '@desuk.co.uk' and up his popped with him using a work email to get Polish people for a football team in Reading! So it's hardly confidential.

We have two Panasonic Boxes and I found on digital spy that they have been affected by these upgrades

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=880202

so the original list of affected boxes is far from complete.
  • Hello all.
Having pushed Daewoo regarding my DS608P A FREE exchange unit (DSD-800M)was delivered to me today.
Out of interest there is nowhere on the packaging or receiver displaying a “Digital Tick” or saying “Fully DVB Compliant”
In the receiver menu under “tools” and “receiver information” it does show “DVB-T M3101″

A result and it’s also my birthday !!
    Regards
  • Having read a thread on another forum I'm registered with where I've been encouraging others to fight with me, there's been an additional two boxes replaced with the person stating their box had a fax attached to the delivery note which appeared to show 20 other boxes were being replaced on that one day alone.

I think we can declare a victory on this one, I hope the journalist who has been in touch with me over this matter mkes as much noise as possible so everyone who has a problem box can have it replaced.

I have been in touch with Freeview and Panasonic only to find they blame the problem on each other. The problem is obviously with the box however as I hooked up another box and all channels (except 5) are alive and well !
    Back to Panasonic now

Does the box have the DVB logo on it? I'd point out to Panasonic if it does they're effectively stating it is DVB compliant, and if it was even though the split NIT problem isn't their fault, a DVB compliant box should have handled it therefore it's not fit for purpose.

Try threatening with legal action and finding as many Panasonic email addresses as possible. Copy everyone in, then if you can find out the Chief Exec's name try to get their email - if not use the old trick of firstname.lastname@whatever.xxx.
