I wish you would let me know when you are ringing the bells in Worcester because I would take a drive out to go and listen:rolleyes:

Had a row with the Halifax this morning about the account that I closed with them back in 2003, the twonks had given me a £300 overdraft, I wasnt allowed to close the account over the phone either because their system didnt allow it so I ended up walking to the local branch to close it - it took an age and all for a measly 57p - best not spend it all at once:D I also saved on bus fare too as I walked there and back. An angry Horace is not a pretty sight:rolleyes:

Glad you had such a lovely Easter Strumpet - and you made some extra money!

Horace - I had the same trouble trying to close an Alliance and Leicester account. There was £20 in it and I had forgotten about the account and found the passbook. Five years since I last used it. I went off to the A&L in Penzance (where I had opened the account) only to find it was now a Specsavers. Then had to go all the way to Falmouth where the other nearest branch was and it took ages to close it as you say. DH waited outside, but they insisted he had to come in and say he wanted to close it as well. We managed in the end - and made the grand total of about 19p in interest:D

Well I hate to say it but I have been spending again today:rolleyes:

2 bottles of Domestos - 64p each in Wilkinsons (they were half price)
and £7 for a new and much needed toilet brush - the pot bit is ceramic and again it was a Wilkinsons purchase.

No food has been purchased today nor loo rolls:rolleyes:

    Yesterday, I spent:

£4.05 Sunbed (I know it's bad for me but it makes me feel good and confident)
    £1.80 lunch

H: I'm next ringing bells in Worcester on the weekend of 23/24 May. I think the ringing is from 09:30 until 2pm on the 23rd but I'll confirm later on.

On the subject of closing bank accounts, I had a Northern Rock Savings account that I'd had since school (1979) and it had just under £50 in it. Some time ago, I went in to close the account and discovered that they had changed the nature of the account so that it now attracted charges if the balance was under £50. They never wrote to me to tell me so when I went in to withdraw the money, the balance was £0. Effectively, I feel that they stole my money!

Now I have my mortgage with them!!! EEEK!!!

Morning All - Strumps that Northern Rock story is horrendous - how dare they?

Yesterday I spent just under £10 in Tescos. For that I got, chocolate, cakes:eek::eek: compost, honey, deep heat (DH hurt his back), washing up liquid. I had originally only gone in for the washing up liquid.

DS came home from air cadets with a long list of items he needs for an outdoor camp on Dartmoor in May. Thank goodness that the Italy trip is over, I can now use the family allowance for the items he needs. The only consolation is that once he has them that's it - things like mess tins and mugs and spoons and a decent sleeping bag.:D

    Today will be an NSD.

    Morning all

I agree with MrsP Strumps - how dare Northern Rock steal your money. If I were you I would reclaim your bank charges.

Ooh the Worcester peal is the weekend after my mate's wedding reception - I shall get the opportunity to wear my bestest skirt (or maybe trouser suit) again:D

Was awakened by an horrendous thunderstorm this morning, more is forecast:rolleyes: I have had quite a productive day today too with business things and I have now signed off the proofs on my new business cards (sometimes I am wondering if I am making a big mistake:rolleyes:) - I know that I am not but I just feel that way.

Anyway I am waiting for the day when Mr Strumps makes an honest man out of Strumps and they get hitched:D This is one wedding that I will do for free or maybe in exchange for a roast lamb dinner:D

Sunbeds are ok in moderation and you must always moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. You should stay on them 10 mins at most. In between times if you want a suntan why not use a tinted moisturiser or even some of that Johnsons body creme that contains a self-tan product? Better for your skin and you don't end up with the skin of a rhinocerous:eek:

Well, I am hoping for an NSD today, I need stuff but can't be bothered to go out.

You would not believe how much moisturiser OH and I get through! I have some of the tanning moisturiser stuff and it's OK. After a shower, I love to go mad with the nivea! OH has beautiful skin. We do look after ourselves in this department.

When I went to the tanning shop and had one of those tanning sprays done, the lady who did it remarked on how well I moisturise my skin. She says most men don't bother. It must be a queen thing! One area I never seem to be able to get moisturised is my left elbow! No matter what I apply, it still remains dry and flaky! BIZARRE!!!

Was going for an NSD today but might have to buy bread! Could get OH to buy it though if I plead poverty!

Flaky skin - get yourself half a lemon and some sea salt - put salt on lemon and then stick your elbow in the lemon half and rub it around, that should exfoliate the dry bits, then wash and then slosh moisturiser on it. Also using olive oil helps keep the skin moisturised. Note all these things can be found in the store cupboard.

No its nothing to do with being a queen, its called being a metrosexual man. It sounds to me as though you moisturise more than me:eek: I am naughty and for the most part don't bother - I inherited my grandma's great skin:D

I am managing an NSD today and I am so pleased with myself:D I will be spending tomorrow though as I have to get the bus to town (business expense). I also need to get an accountant to sort out my self assessment because they will know what I can claim and what I can't:D Maybe, the tax man will give me some money - fat chance I know:rotfl:

I am also arranging a meeting with a man who has a pink cadillac;)

Also.... (sorry to butt in!! :o) if you rub the dry area with lemon juice about 10 mins before you exfoliate you should find the dry skin is removed better - the lemon juice helps break down the crusty nature of older skin. This works particularly well on feet! :D
