I have a peculiar one....
I have spured off my ring main in my kitchen to underneath my work top to a new double socket. I have spured off this again approx 5mtr to another socket, & then again to another socket above the work top. First of all i know i should really do that many spurs, but the problem I've got is a very strange one.
when i plug my dish washer in to the first or second spur, the dishwasher beomes live inside to the tune of 120v! when i plug it in to the original ring main it's fine. the socket on the last spur (above the work top) is chrome & that is giving off 12v continuously. If i plug my chrome kettle in, the kettle becomes live at 17v, when you switch the kettle on it's 24v! i have checked the continuity & everything is normal. Has anyone got a clue why is this happening, & also why isn't my breaker tripping?0 -

Hi
An excellent example of why the various trades become regulated (Part p 'tax' etc.)
As you have no idea why your electrics are doing strange things you should get a qualified electrician in .You are a danger to yourself and anyone who touches your 'work'

Nice help! Actually i've had an electrician round & he is stumped! i find you rude & embarrasing, seeing as you have no idea about my aptiude towards this.0 -
Will you ever learn,Messing about with Electrics is Dangerous,Hope all your Smoke Alarms are working.
So the plug was stuck because it melted-So you have found the fault??
Well done!
What cable are you using (bell wire)
So you are going to join 3 wires together and turn them into 1(What an idea)
This should ease the load.
I hope the Dyson Engineer asks for your Minor Works Electrical Certificate so that when he says your machine is now safe he can be sure in the knowledge the work was carried out correctly and not by somebody who followed a load of CRAP advice he got off the internet.
Call an Electrician and yes i think you are missing somethink!!
I dont mean to be unhelpful but why mess about!OH THE JOYS OF BEING SELF-EMPLOYED!! Can Travel,Will Work For Free!0 -

Not At All...... if you make a mistake plumbing you get wet.... play about with electrical circuits and make a mistake you can kill or start a fire.
If you have to ask about it then you get a sparky in!! Its not a TOY!!!0 -
