Stay away from this crowd. I've had nothing but problems.....NUPLAYER.CO.UK

After recently experiencing a total nightmare with an online trader I thought I should bring it to your attention.

On the 11th October, I contacted nuplayer.co.uk via email to enquire as to the stock levels of their PSPs.

Almost immediatelty I received a response explaining that...'there are plently in stock, please go ahead and order'.

This was great news as Im sure some of you will appreciated how difficult it was to get your hands on these things then. I should have smelled a rat there and then.

I placed an order on the 12th and after 1 week, phoned them only to receive a replay that they were still being held in customs and my PSP should be with me the following week.

Hang on...I was told they were in stock. That was the first of many lies. I gave them the benefit of doubt and waited. Guess what?......no PSP.

I paid via paypal so I filed a paypal buyer complaint against them and asked nuplayer to cancel my order and issue a full refund. Great or so I thought.

I have been on the telephone every day since, demanding my refund and being told I will get it that day along with a telephone call just to confirm. Nothing.

The deadline for the Paypal complaint was today and was ruled in my favour. Unfortunately, Paypal could not recover the money and I have been left in the lurch. Some protection from paypal. I'm sure some of you have your opinions on that, however, my main beef is with nuplayer.

I contacted my credit card company today, who agree that nuplayer are 'on the fiddle' and my money was refunded.

I'm not entirely sure what happens with nuplayer now, but tread carefully, you don't want to lose money like I very nearly did.

Strange that your CC company refunded as you as they would have had to make a payment to Paypal first who are the medium so would out paypal at a loss and not your credit card company. Also, everytime paypal do a chargeback they get a less favouable rate from the credit card companies which is why they do few chargebacks.

Can someone tell me i am thinking of getting one for Xmas for the kids but noticed all the games so far are for the older child. Will there be a few more coming out for under 10's?
They already have the DS(well one of them has the other uses it) and are very hard to buy for:rolleyes:

On the subject of them coming down in price i can't see it happening as isn't it the case that alot of people have sold out so it wouldn't make much sense for Sony to reduce the price would it if they are selling so well?

Sony never intended it to be primarily for kids hence the game line-up like GTA etc. DS is a better all rounder for that I would say.

Ahh right thanks so they have not got any plans on bringing out any 'younger' games then?

i'm still happy with my psp that i got from yesasia. it shipped quickly and i've not had any customs charges. it also came with 1.5 firmware so i can use various homebrew things. my OH has a uk psp with 2.0. there's no diff between them, other than i can't play GTA on mine running 1.5, but i can play games from the memory stick :D

also, i think a DS is the best option for younger kids. there's loads of games due out soon,or just come out. check out cdwow for some really cheap prices - eg sims2 for 19.99
  • I've read somewhere that someone working for Dabs.com says Sony are creating an artificial lack of supply (just like last year) and that come mid-late November there will be plenty of stock available.

Downgraded my US PSP last night from 1.52 to 1.5 (via 2.0) and if I do get any problems with it I'll just re-upgrade it to 1.52 from the Virtua Tennis UMD. :D
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

BE VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN UPGRADING BACK AFTER DOWNGRADING TO V1.5

Have a look at the website i sent you yesterday (Via PM) before you do it.
