I've got a v1.52 US PSP and want to get this but dont want to have to upgrade more than 2.0.
Also when I downgrade to v1.50 how do I go about playing my Virtua Tennis (original) which requires v.152 firmware?
You have to have v2 to play GTA. As nobody has found away round it yet.
You can get a program called WAB changer that makes your PSP think it is a later version. (Does not work with GTA)
also Silent_Bob i have sent you a Private message0 -

I half-own a games shop and trust me the PSP price will definatly NOT be dropping before xmas and I would imagine not until next summer at the earliest. Also there will be a huge shortage of these at xmas, we have had to stop taking orders as of last week because we have a backlog of orders (around 150) and there is pretty much no chance we are gonna get that much stock in between now and xmas.
Not trying to prove you wrong or owt mate just dont want no-one reading your comments and thinking that they'll wait until nearer to xmas to get little jimmys PSP cos it'll be cheaper and easier to get hold of thats all
Sony say they are due large shipments plus the PSP's are no longer japanese made but in china instead where they can pump out units really quick.
I'm willing to put my money on it as I just can't see it sustaining itself. It's all about market share. Sony don't make much profit on the PSP hardware but really from the games. So without a solid user base they aren't going to sell those games and their profits won't rise hence the reduction in price of the hardware. Much like a mobile phone, you can pick up a cheap or free contract and then the real profit comes from calls/content for service provider. With cars, more cars from a certain manufacturer are sold the more parts etc they can sell and make real profit from there (despite becoming seemingly more reliable). Lets not also forget that sony will be wanting to cut the price due to some stiff competition. xbox360, gizmonodo, gizmondo widescreen, a new zodiac product due for release soon and the beating it's already getting from the DS. As for sony thinking those who will play homebrew, you can already see them upping the firmware to play certain games so obviously this issue got them foaming at the mouth. They are basically killing off the homebrew community whilst others like the gizmondo aren't. That fact alone will take more users to the giz. Looks to me like UK buyers are more crazy about it than other countries for some reason as they are not shifting half as many units (and I have seen batch loads in the US gathering dust). So why I said the price will drop is because there is already a bloated supply but sony isn't doing anything about it (it's in the wrong places). From this I would imagine the drop being sooner than people think. Oh- plus it's hyped

Does anyone know where I'm guaranteed delivery before Christmas though? Thanks for the suggestion for ebay but I wouldn't risk buying a pressie for my kids from there - I'd rather go to a reputable retailer either here or overseas!! I'd rather get it now and hide it than wait - can anyone who's had delivery of theirs please help!!!!!!!!! :wall:0

I saw some good offers from ebay leeches but I think people are getting greedy now and trying exploit the shortage. If you can stick to a Euro PSP because at least you get some guarantee. Some sellers falsely promise an international warranty, but there is no such thing. Be careful on ebay as the PSP can be as dodgy as a cell phone.0 -

Woolies and argos seem to get stock in from time to time. But the fact you cant pre order from them means it is a bit hit and miss.

I managed to get 1 from both. I initially ordered from Kays, just after it was realeased but they kept putting the delivery back and back and back. Until it was mid january. (so it would have been over a 4 months wait, they said it was only going to be 4 weeks when i ordered.)0 -

the post was deleted because it was offering an item for sale.
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule).
