Well after 6 weeks I now got a reply to the national lottery link I used. I signe dup to lottery via Pigsbank and teh link worked so I assume that there was a problem with the tracking as I have all the appropiate plugin installed and working correctly.

I have just checked my account with national lottery aas I use Roboform to save passwords and usernames, and my details are correct and I am a member which I wanst prior to being before I used the link via Pigsbank.

    Hi xxxxxxxxxxx,

    Thanks for your mail.

We have downloaded the file and credited the PiggyPoints for National Lottery accordingly. Your registration has not been tracked as originating from our site which is why no Points have been issued.

Members were required to have Flash installed on your computer to fill out the form on the page and complete the registration on the National Lottery site. Did you experience any problems at the time you registered?

    Kind Regards,

    Rachel

    THIS is what'll happen.

Not necessarily - if they think you are doing it when you KNOW the links aren't intended for you - (which you do) they have closed accounts for this in the past - given that Pigsback are now at least giving us more click throughs and coming on here to try and answer questions etc I think its a bit of a cheek to use the Irish links as well (just my opinion)

I totally agree. The problem is that people post links without saying which site they are from. Others click them, not knowing that they are not intended for us, get the points and are none the wiser. In future, I think it's best if, when posting links to click throughs, etc, people state which site they got the links from. This way, people are made aware of the problem. If they then choose to click links not intended for them, they won't be able to moan when Pigsback bans them.

I'm feeling ambivalent about what's gone on today. So maybe a concise discussion (not something I'm normally good at!) will help me, and maybe others.

I have been critical of PB in terms of anomalies and weaknesses on their site, and I have asked for questions to be answered. However, I think the number of questions asked of Darragh today has been enormous, and I admire his patience and indeed courage for trying to deal with them. In fact, he has not been able to answer all questions, and I can well understand why.

For that reason, I think that Kazzea's suggestion to open a separate thread for questions to Darragh is not a bad one. To some people's surprise, perhaps, I would maybe go further.

In the normal course of business, if something goes wrong with your transaction, you take it up with your supplier. You don't immediately broadcast the dispute over the internet. If you fail to reach some satisfactory agreement with that supplier, you may well have a moan on here - though on MSE, I have just realised that, strictly speaking, it should be on "The Vent Board".

A number of people have asked questions today which, as has been pointed out already, had already been answered either by Darragh or by another MSE-er. It has been requested that people read all posts before asking their questions. Today, that was difficult. There were just so many posts that people, especially those who were supposed to be using their PCs for other reasons (!), may have been discouraged from reading through a hugely long thread . In addition, I noticed several times that when I had made a post, it appeared half a dozen posts later than I thought it would, such was the traffic. An answer to my question/point could easily have appeared before I realised. (Posts can be deleted, of course!)

To make life easier for ourselves, and especially for Darragh, we maybe ought to find a solution. You may disagree, and say that it's just been a busy day today, and it'll be alright in the future. I did, though, notice a lot of different usernames today, maybe people who don't post on this thread often or even at all normally. If such a large number of people continue to post, we'll have many a busy Monday.

The answer may well be to have a generalised thread as now, but with a separate thread for questions to Darragh. I would be interested to read your comments about the idea that complaints should initially be taken up with PB direct, and only reported on here when PB don't seem to be helping (although presumably, that's when we'd be posting to Darragh).

I cannot imagine that Darragh's bosses will continue to allow him to spend a large part of his time at work talking to us lot, handy though it is for us, and useful, too, to PB - for the time being. If I had been Darragh today, I'd have gone nuts. He surely won't want many more Mondays like that!

Sorry, it's long and it's rambling, but, along with some others, so it seems, I got quite cheesed off today, and some action along the lines that Kazzea suggested seems to be important if PB-ing is to remain a simple pastime!

Your ideas, please, ladies and gents!

I think as soon as Pigsback sort out the problem with not replying to emails (or taking forever to reply) THEN we can discuss problems first directly with Pigsback

EDIT - Although to be fair - I DO contact Pigsback with my problems - they just rarely reply

    Good point.

Of course, there would be no need for Darragh to come on here at all if there hadn't been such a large number of concerns and complaints since July.
