well I exceeded that ... so that may make sence of what happened with me today
The only thing that ever makes sense about boots differing SEL'S, Till programming and 'rules' in different stores...is that it does not make sense!

But you said in your earlier posts you'd only bought 5 in total? This is hardly what I'd call stockpiling?! Maybe the SS till was referring to something else?

I know, it's not exactly stockpiling. I have no idea why I have this irrational fear!
Yesterday when I got home I was delighted with what I got. I laid it all out on the sofa and explained to the boyf how it all worked and he was (or said he was) pleased.
That should have been enough. but then last night before I drifted off to sleep I started thinking about other possible combinations, and how I could nip in on my way over to work etc etc.
When the voucher didn't scan i panicked because I think I felt i was doing something naughty!

in the clear light of day it was probably because I had used my boots card about 8 or so times in various transactions, within the space of an hour!

Just spoke to my friend who tried to used the mitchum voucher today and got refused, quite a large store too, Ill be going on Thursday but not sure I will bother trying now.

Aparantly the till wouldnt accept it and the SA said they werent taking them any more as there had been some problem with them.

Shame as my friend a newbee and it has really knocked her confidence.

thank goodness for that :rotfl: I dont mean that nasty IYKWIM but I was beginning to doubt myself then :rotfl: and feel better now I'm not the only one it has happened to :)

Sorry it happened to your friend as she is a newbie hope it hasn't put her off too much. xx
  • Am v. excited as think I have just managed my best ever (I'm quite new at this) Boots trip!

    1 JK wipes + 1 nail file - 5 pounds (earned 500 points back)

TD Toner - free with the pink voucher (No mags left to get the extra 200 points...)
No 7. Anti Cellulite balm - free with till spit

then repeated the JK purchase (earning another fiver back)to get another two vouchers and bought

    TD Cleanser - free
    No. 7 Anti Cellulite balm.

I got about 29 pounds worth of lovely stuff I'll def. use for a tenner, but earned more than that amount back in points - so I've essentially been paid to shop at Boots. I LOVE this thread!! xx

    Re the Mitchum
Do you think there is a certain amount one customer can purchase - would this be the same for every item in store? to stop people stockpiling stuff?
I just realised that it probably wouldn't have come up on the screen "limit reached" or whatever it said if I hadn't put my card in.
I don't want any more at this stage, too afraid to, and my boyf and I have plenty now, but I wonder.............................
    Does anyone know?

I would not worry about SS tills coming up with messages like "limit reached" or "restricted number item approval needed" as I have regularly had this come up when buying 5 jars of baby food for £2.

    Wow sideburn - that's a great shop!

    :T
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".
