Hey VelvetGlove & xoxlauraxox I hope everything works out ok for you both... will be thinking about you in the next few weeks. This happened at my work about 18 months ago and while I wasn't directly affected it did mean many of my colleagues were in your position and it wasn't nice.

Thanks for your thoughts :) At the mo, I'm feeling quite positive again. I'm going to make the most of it while it lasts!

I'm organising a charity night for Breast cancer care (in manchester) and if anyone has any competition prizes they don't want we still need more prizes

What date is your cancer evening running? If I win anything before that date that would be any good for you then I can let you know? :)

    Thanks for the hug :)

Hi Laura & VG, so sorry to hear that you have redundancy worries.

    *snip*

Hope some of this helps (sorry it's long)

Good Luck & feel free to PM if I can help at all

Thank you so much for that! I'm so glad I encouraged you to post :rotfl: Seriously though, that is very useful advice, thank you :)
Oh VG that's horrible. Same thing happened a few years ago to OH and he was one of the one's to go! His redundancy money lasted about 5 mins! But he's a much happier person now, having had that change forced upon him. He did just as Toni (Hi hun!!) advised and had a contingency plan in place (well several actually) and that worked for him. I just ran around screaming "Oh No! Oh No!" all the time.lol. We had 4 kids at the time and that's all I could think about. But things are better now than they were then, so you never know!
Be thinking about you and hope everything turns out well, I'm sure it will.

Thanks :) It was voluntary redundancies at my last job back in 2004 which I volunteered for but was turned down as they couldn't lose me (!) which had me looking around for the job I have now. You are right, it could be a push towards something better & I'll be having a scout at the job sites a bit later to see what is around :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
  • Bigs hugs for you VG (((((((((()))))) and Laura also
