This won't help you this time, but hopefully will in future.
Not all budget airline pricing models are the same, and although some do exactly what you expected (start low then get higher and higher with time), Ryanair isn't one of them.
Ryanair tend to start at a standard (reasonable-ish) price, and then fluctuate between a series of lower prices, before sky-rocketing closer to departure date.0 -
is the new price part of their 'deals'??0

Easyjet give you a credit if the price goes down from when you book to the flight. Does not include any special offers though so i don't know how many times this has been used succesfully.
Is this statement accurate?
I coudn't find reference to it on their website.0 -

http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/regulations.html#pricepromiseAny easyJet passenger who has made a booking and subsequently finds that lower fares (when taken together with all applicable charges) for the same easyJet flight have become available will be refunded the difference as a credit against future flights on easyJet. The only exception to this is if the lower fares are part of a promotional offer.0 -
As with any flight or ferry ticket, you pay the price you are happy with, with yield management the prices can go up or down. My advice is not to check it again once you have booked.Started Comping in August 2014

i would have thought booking a ryanair flight 4 months in advance would have made the odds of you getting the best deal very long indeed
the never ending ryanair sales are always next month and the one after etc etc, the only time 4 months advance booking might be advisable is during peak season
trying to get the best deal is very hard, i dont like to book more than 6 weeks in advance, i have probably ended up even on gains and losses trying to play the game, but 4 months in advance would have been a big time loser without doubt
ryanair giveaway the best deals including free flights on midweek departures, thats when the prices can really drop up to 2 months before departure0
