Help - My Ryanair flight is now cheaper than when booked last month

Hi, I made a booking with Ryan air last month to fly in October. The exact same flights (same day and time and location) is now cheaper by £50 total.

I rang Ryanair and the person I spoke to said it costs £20 per person to make a change (so £40 total) and they will not refund the difference.
He said If i cancel the flight - there will be additional cancellation charges and it will not be worth cancelling and rebooking.

I normally book as far in advance as possible to get the best price and I understand that special offers from time to time will mean that sometimes if you are lucky you will get a very good deal when booking later.

Has anyone experienced this kind of thing before - any advice is greatly appreciated.

Flight and holiday prices fluctuate on a supply and demand basis.

Why did you bother to check the price again?

The best advice for a flight or holiday is to book when you see a price that you are happy to pay and then not bother checking again.

    book, be happy

never ever ever ever ever check the prices again.... then you have the cheapest price possible..

if ryanair had called you, and said.. actually sir, the price is more expensive, i need another £20 off you... you wouldn't have been on here complaining..

but because you checked, and you want it the cheapest possible, you think they'll give you money back... c'mon.. you booked at a price you like

my advice to you is .

    once booked don't look again.

but like ince mon said if the flight had gone up in price, would you have been phoning ryanair to pay the difference, or would you have been sat at home, grinning like a cheshire cat, and saying omg how much have those flights gone up, i'm glad i booked them when i did.

Thank god you didn't give them even more money calling expensive premium rate phone numbers or anything.

I never understand the motivation behind checking the price of a non-flexible ticket once you've paid for it.

Easyjet give you a credit if the price goes down from when you book to the flight. Does not include any special offers though so i don't know how many times this has been used succesfully.

So, check easyjets prices again after booking but not the others.

  • I always travel ryanair and never book any flights unless they are cheap, and i mean dirt cheap and then I love going on the site at alater date to see how much they have gone up!!! Heehee!!!

Off to Shannon Ireland on Tuesday for 2p return, no taxes and of course we travel light so no extra charges for suitcases. I love Ryanair and it irritates me when people slate them for being a rip-off. Go with another airline then and see how expensive they are. If you are flexible you can always get a bargain with Ryanair. We have two young children of school age and we even manage to get good delas in school holidays.

....so I don't blame the OP for looking at the flight costs at a later date...although I wouldn't quibble over £50 on two flights.

Sorry that should say good 'DEALS' not delas. Some of teh Ryanair haters prbably thought I was saying '...and we always get good delays!'
