Hey guy's, just to break the !!!!!! storm for a minute, I have successfully installed XP Pro SP2 on my Asus EEEPC 4G, just updating the drivers now, installed from a USB Flash drive, no CD ROM or hacks just played around and it worked like a dream, solved a few blips on they way to with my best mate Google, if anyone needs any help with doing this just give me a shout and I will be more than willing to assist.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Hey, well done, P. Must be really nice. Hope you'll get much pleasure out of it.

Oh look, little Donnie's been looking up words in that dictionary thingy of his girlfriend's. He's come out to play again. :D

    Hi, Donnie, :hello:

Well, never mind about the numbers. Nineteen, twenty, gets a bit complicated when you have to start using your toes as well as your fingers, I guess.

Now, sit down and pay attention.

Take that round thing with the lead on it and use it to click on

Now, I know it's only 5,400 rpm but that's as good as it gets, 2.5" 320 GB Firewire 800, straight out of the box, in England.

If you want 7,200 rpm you have to buy an enclosure and do it yourself.

Like I did. It works a treat.

But you need one of those geeky things called a screwdriver.

    Happy now?

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Oh, I get it. You are shouting in a vain attempt to get us to ignore the fact the your link does not correspond to your original 'oh so smart' suggestion.
    Allow me:
The best current solution is a 2.5" 320 GB, 7200 rpm, SATA drive mounted in a Firewire 800 enclosure.

A simple request for you to source links for the OP, to your suggested solution resulted in you having a hissy fit. :D

If you can't do it, just say so. Stop blustering and making yourself look a fool.

My guess is that you are not going to stop. Some people just can't help themselves.

I'll leave this thread on the note that the über geek Leopard made an utterly useless suggestion that even he could not fulfill, let alone the OP. What a dolt.

Rather than being a prat, you could have suggested the LaCie in the first place, rather than trying to score points recommending hardware that simply isn't available to the average consumer. Twit.

Does your posting have anything to do with Portable External harddrive or huge flash usb?. I'm guessing not....

So take your little toy to another thread.
  • Does the OP even have a firewire port?

I'm attempting to get WoW on one on Monday when I'm back in for a "tech demo" to those who think they're underpowered and not suitable for basic office and email capabilities. I hope they like it.

That's a nice little piece of kit.

In lieu of a MacBook, I wouldn't mind getting one myself with Linux on it.
