I think it needs to be a straight swap so that everytime you send a book you get another back so everyone is even. I'm sure most books can be posted second class (which would be much cheaper than buying the book or incurring late fees at the library, if you're like me!) and just put in a jiffy envelope (available in packs in the £1 shop) or double wrapped in brown parcel paper (buy a roll from Woolies).
Once you've received a book that you have swapped with someone, it is then your's to re-list to swap again after you've read it.
Basiaclly, I think the best way is get everyone to register thier interest on a thread and then post two or three titles they would like to swap and people reply back to say what one they want and what they have to offer in return.
There is obviously an element of trust that both parties will post thier books, but everyone on here seems lovely and friendly so I'm sure there won't be any problems (and you cna get proof of postage in case it gets lost!)

I think it's going West (or SW), but don't hold me to that as I wasn't very good at Geography at school and have just taking a random guess at which way my desk faces in the office!!!!!!

should we check with a mod that it's okay to do this, then launch a thread tomorrow... I'm not always on much in the evening either.
The trouble is i think i should sell my books on amazon more MSE, but i'm so rough with them, have them in the bath etc, so who'd buy them?? At least if you are swapping then you don't mind the condition too much.
So to start us off, what will you send Red squirrel if she sends you "girlfriend in a coma"...............????????I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
sorry to be a party pooper, but I don't think swapping is allowed in public.....:(
I''m sure this kind of idea has come up before."Stay Wonky":D
