Best mosquito repellent? cheapest but still effective??

Hiya guys,

Just wondering what is, in your opinions the most effective mosquito repellent for me and my girfriend to take to majorca with us at the end of september. Also, in addition to being the most effective we would like to try and find it as cheap as possible. Hence why I'm posting on MSE lol.

Thanks in advance for your help

if you are going to use suncream/ aftersun just buy one with built in insect repellent, won't cost any extra. Boots own make is reliable.

Those plug-in repellants are very good, I buy them abroad as they are generally cheaper and have the correct plugs, so you don't need adaptors.

    Best mosquito repellent
Try to find one with a high deet content the higher the better, me and the wife went to Cuba earlier this year no bites we bought the repellant from superdrug about 90% deet.
    Hope this helps.

Please try vitamin B (thiamine) or Vitamin B complex. Start taking them about a week before you go and continue thru your holiday. They smell abit yeasty but they really do work. I always take Deet with me as an extra precaution but rarely need it now.

Borrow an all-in-one wetsuit (preferably in your size) and smear any body parts that remain visible with garlic ;)

A lot of people swear by the Avon Skin so soft, but it has to be the soft and fresh one (green), not the Soft and sensual (Pink):)

This doesn't work for me. The only thing that keeps them off me is something with DEET in it.

Mosquito Milk - available from Boots, but not cheap.

I've got a mate who swears that Marmite (every morning on toast) works a treat. I think it's to do with the Vitamin B content as posted by woosh0 above.
