You/she just needs to remember that most breadmakersbooks say water first, yeast last, whilst panasonics say yeast first, water last. That's why on packets of yeast, etc, it sometimes says "in the order suggested by your breadmaker manual" or words to that effect."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

Hi,
I have been wanting a breadmaker for as long as I can remember, I have baked bread in the oven and really enjoy it but don't always have the time. I am fed up of reading articles in the press about whats in bread these days and how bad it can be for us. I thought being as it's my birthday coming up I would ask for a breadmaker from my husband but haven't got a clue what to buy or where to start to use a breadmaker. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?0 -
Hi meeema, have had my Panasonic for 12 years, have used it between 2 and 4 times a week since buying it and it's till going strong! Couldn't recommend a breadmaker highly enough. I use ald! or !id! strong flour and the end result is really yummy, with little salt and no unknowns.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

hi i can also highly recommend the panasonic, i have this one with the raisin/nut dispenser.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-SD-2501WXC-Automatic-Breadmaker-Dispenser/dp/B004RTJWMW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328995602&sr=8-1
i had a comet branded one for years and could never make bread that was light and fluffy. got the panasonic and can see why people love them. the bread was lovely. there may be a higher initial outlay but better than wasting slightly less money on a less superior model, that ends up in a cupboard like my previous one did!:DSealed Pot Member 1269VSP... I'd like to make my visitor a GF loaf, she's not keen on shop bought and I have to say when I tried it I found it pretty awful _pale_
Last time I made her a GF loaf in the panny I'm sure I used GF bread flour, but can't find it in Mr.A, Mr.S or Mr.M. They all have GF baking flour (for cakes) which I know isn't the same thing but wondering if it would work?
Also does anyone know if I can use ordinary white vinegar rather than cider vinegar? Seems a terrible waste to buy a bottle for one or two spoonsful

Ive just brought the same one, it should be delivered tomorrow, cant wait, so will keep you posted with the results.
you will love it! my favourite loaf is linseed and sunflower wholemeal bread. its amazing! you do realise the downside to this is that other people start asking for loaves!Sealed Pot Member 1269VSP... TO UPDATE!

Thank you for your reply and the links. Unfortunately only one states it's a bread flour and they want P&P, making it over £4 a pack. Not prepared to pay that, also there's no guarantee it would arrive in time if bought by mail order. Thanks for looking and for your help anyway0
