I'll be back next week & will be expecting great things from you0 -
Hi swan,dunno about great things,but heres a question for someone....is there any dough programme on my panasonic 256 thats less than 2hrs.20mins?...last week,for the first time i made a loaf in my oven(and much as i love my breadmaker,i cannot believe how much nicer oven baked bread is),...soo i was thinking,use the panny to do the kneading,proving etc,then bake in oven,but quickest dough setting i can find is 2hrs 20..surely thats not right...i could have a loaf kneaded and baked quicker.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)0 -
We tried quick bake for the first time yesterday - not as nice as the normal one.
We will be trying more things but been a hectic week!0 -
my beloved panasonic has produced flat bricks the last 3 loaves , have tried different yeast flour etc to no avail
mind you its 4 + years old and been n constant use not bought bread since i purcheased it . could it be the heating element
i dont mind replacing it but thought i would ask here first0 -
Hmm, have you tried different settings etc., for instance:
Normal bake (white or w/meal, whatever you don't normally use)
Rapid bake
Dough only - then bake only
Definitely don't want to ditch it too fast - have you thought of trying to contact Panasonic for their advice?0 -
thanks difower
i,m jst trying on the normal bake as have been trying different yeast / flour combinations with no luck ..have an hour leeft to go its making the right kneading noises etc so wil have to see it seems to be the baking stage it goes t@ts up
never thought of contactng panasonic , if this one doesnt work i'm loathed to waste anymore ingredients , the birds wont be able to fly :rotfl:
will keep you posted
cheers

I currently always use this recipe for the 3hr large wholemeal but want to replace the butter with oil... could anyone tell me how much oil I should use as a substitute for the 25g of butter please?
Yeast = 1 ½ tsp
Flour = 475g
Sugar = 1 ½ tsp
Butter = 25g
Salt = 1 ¼ tsp
Water = 340ml:hello:0 -
hi Tiddlywinks
I've been using 2 Tablespoons of oil in place of 25g butter & it seems to work well0 -
Thanks Swan
I've just had some jam on a slice of the wholemeal rapid loaf I made with oil not butter and I definitely prefer the taste and smell.
I'm going to try making a white loaf later with oil - much cheaper too, so smiles all round.
Thanks again
Tiddly:hello:0
