    I made the Spiced Fruit loaf from the Panasonic instruction book at the weekend. I think it's quite dense - has anyone else made it?
    It's not a disaster - I'm going to slice and freeze it and I think it will be good toasted just wondered what others had found with this recipe?

    I found it a bit too cake-like for my taste. Worked OK toasted though. Keep meaning to try a standard loaf with a bit of fruit and cinnamon thrown in but end up using it to make a normal savoury loaf because we keep eating it all up!

    Yes, I've got that one. Don't like the plasticy top though. It does make lovely loaf though.

    I still use the recipe that was provided with the SD253. It's less sweet, with a bread texture. If you want it, let me know

    All the Panny bread maker instructions and recipe books are available to download in PDF from their website. I regularly refer to my original model as I liked some recipes from then.

    I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who has bought one of the new range of Panasonic BMs.

    My SD255 is getting a bit long in the tooth and I need to start planning for the worst.

    I'm just worried that they may have tinkered with the design and that results won't be as good....

    Please could someone give me some feedback.

    Loving my SD2501 if it helps. Haven't had a BM before this, but reached the conclusion that it was worth spending the extra to get a panny. No complaints so far and have only bought one loaf since Xmas - and that was while we were on a camping holiday and OH wouldn't let me take the BM!

    Hi All

    Just to add, I am strictly "follow the recipe to the T kinda girl" but......after trying paprika bread in a fancy hotel , I added paprika powder to the Basic French Loaf in the manual and OMG...it was scoffed on the night it came out. We also use our SD253 for pizza dough, to make naan dough and french stick dough....all absolutely scrummy :D even though I personally have not had these in a while :(.

    I would say the recipe for spicy fruit loaf in my manual is light & fluffly but I have always sliced it, toasted in and slathered the butter on :drool: :drool: :drool: oh I love slimming world but what I wouldnt give to have a bit of Spicy fruit loaf toasted with a wee bit of butter :rotfl:

    1093331I am now the proud owner of a Panasonic SD2502 Stainless Steel and so far I am very happy with it! My first loaf wasn't great but it was my own fault as I put in cold water and had out of date yeast(out by 6 months).
    Live and learn! I DO know better realy!

    So I bought new yeast and put in slightly warm water. Mad the raisin lloaf(well, sultanas) then the 5 seeded loaf(3 seeds in my case) then another white loaf and another seeded loaf and all were totally amazing! Family at first thought I'd bought expensive bread somewhere. Nobody has whinged about eating breadmaker bread now and it is scoffed in no time at all!

    i usually use olive oil or even corn oil in my panny to make everyday white bread, but fnd the price of both of these rising

    i have a large tub of ghee in the fridge could i use this instead or would it make the bread taste "funny"
