I hate LoveFilm with a passion.

About 2 years ago I got a postcard with a free trial code for LoveFilm fout of Empire magazine. I had previously been a Blockbuster customer; some of the dvd rental companies are owned by the same people, but as far as I know these two are separate. But when I registered for my free trial, I heard nothing for ages and ages, I emailed and asked what was going on, no response, I called, no answer; eventually I got an email after about 2 weeks saying I had already had a free trial, which was rubbish. I replied to this – and it started all over again – no replies. So I sent them an extremely angry email asking them to cancel my registration and never contact me again. About 10 days later I got a response saying “Yes we’ll cancel it, but come back soon!” Iwas seething – ok it was a free trial, but what appalling customer service.

I still get emails saying “please come back!” – I replied to first rather angrily, but no response, then I tried the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the email, and I got a bounceback saying the unsubscribe email address did not exist. Argh.

Join LoveFilm at your peril. Or join Blockbuster, they’re really good.

Codes often work to permit reactivation of an account if you, for example, use a different email address and/or change one character of your postcode. Recently, i successfully used a code to get 3 months free in this way....having been using 3 months free offers for well over a year! Good luck...

You should also check- http://www.hotukdeals.com/ - as people post new codes often.

You are no longer able to edit your address on your lovefilm account. Be aware or you will be charge full month billing.

I've been using trials for 18 months or so but now its no go,. I tried everything, wife's name, different email, different CC even same postcode but different house number (next door is unoccupied).

Many of them let me reactivate but they all got rejected in a day or two.

Unless you have a different address you can use it looks like the party's over

No more codes to reactivate then? That's sad, I have reactivated about 3 times now, so almost a year, oh well! Good while we had it.

:j Just used a discount code on http://www.lovefilm.com for buying an xbox 360 game, will in fact work for any purchase. It is only for 5% but every little helps. The code is VCSEPT and is valid for September. Good luck.
