I'll tell you what... I shall seek advice from CAB/local trading standards.:D Let you know what they say.
Either I'll get it re-sprayed for nothing (unlikely) or I just carrying on driving happily as I am.
i would save my self the embaresment and just do the later. or pay for it myself....work permit granted!0 -
The car was first registered on 24/04/01 ... the document shows the accident repair carried out on 09/10/01... I wouldn't have expected the original paint to have deteriorated within a matter of months... even if the car was built 6 months before first registration
I wouldn't be making a claim against the person I bought the car from... it was bought from private individual... so sold as seen.
I'm 'alleging' that the bodywork didn't match the paint correctly. I could ring the garage to find out if they got records and if the door was done. I would just have no way of knowing/proving if the door had been resprayed again since.

Go for it - I mean, what have you got to lose? Common sense?
Or you could just have it resprayed yourself and then you would feel a lot more relaxed knowing that the colours match. And that could be a bit cheaper than going to court.Genie

If I were the original garage I would shred the records as I wouldn't be required to keep these documents for more than 6 years.
And don't take your "claim" to TS or CAB. Both organisations are woefully understaffed and CAB often rely on volunteers and they really don't need to give wastrels like you any of their precious time. The man without a signature.0 -

I would touch you up but I've been painting all day and I'm knackered.
