Liz Earle - how long does it last?

Got fed up with Clinique making me sneeze so had some Liz Earle samples. I have got through a 50ml Hot Polish Cleanser in a week, using twice a day. Have ordered a 100ml now, but if that's only going to last two weeks then it isn't very money saving, is it? Even if it is lovely to use.

How do I make it last? Am I doing something wrong?

You are probably using too much of the product at once.... try applying less

It is a lovely product but I stopped buying it as it was too expensive

I agree, you must be using too much. Was your 50ml C&P a tube instead of a pump? With the pump you should find it a lot easier to regulate usage, you only need to pump once to get enough for a thin layer over the whole of your face and neck.

A 100ml pump gives just over 60 "doses", I believe - enough to use it morning and night for a month.

As for the Skin Repair moisturiser - I'm loving how long it lasts, cos I find I only need to use a tiny little bit.

  • I was cleansing twice, morning and night, so four pumps a day. Will cleansing once at a time be enough? I don't usually wear make up. The moisturiser and the skin tonic are still going strong.

I find that a single pump is literally EXACTLY the right amount to stretch to my whole face and neck. You don't get a thick layer at a time, and I don't think others find they need to do it twice at a time (even those people who do wear make-up). One "going over" leaves my face lovely and clean, even if I have had foundation on.

I'm currently using a tube instead of a pump (it came as part of a set on QVC) and I find it a lot trickier not to use too much.

Totally agree, 1 pump is the right amount. I always cleanse night and day but try using just one pump each time.

By the way, QVC have got the Ultimate Energising Collection at introductory price again (£40.35 plus P&P) - it's being featured in the 9pm slot today (item 224427). If you are going to use all the products, it is a very good deal even at its regular price of a few pounds more. I'm considering buying it even though I've currently got plenty of supplies at the moment, because just to buy the products I will primarily use (cleanser, toner, moisturiser, Energizing Body Wash) would cost about the same in the shops. The only downside is that the C&P is a tube not a pump. Very good deal otherwise, especially considering how tricky it can be to get LE products for anything less than standard retail price. (And incidentally, although it doesn't appear to on the QVC website, it does include 2 muslin cloths.)

If you apply to a dry face it goes much further, I find it just slides off a wet face. It took me a little while to get used to the feel of it as I was also used to heavy cleansers that did not remove all my make up. Persevere and you will find the hot cloth will feel much better than lots of cotton wool. I really love this range and overall it saves me lots of money as now I don't throw lots of half used products away. My skin has never looked so good.
  • Another C&P fan here! I find one squirt of the pump is enough to remove my make-up of an evening. OP, are you sure you need to use it in the morning as well? I find the hot cloth on its own (i.e. just with water) is enough to freshen my skin in the morning as it doesn't get that dirty in bed! Depends on the skin type though I suppose. I always buy in 3-packs (slightly cheaper) and they last me almost a full year.
  • I buy 200ml versions and they last 6 months using only in the evenings. My sister is also a recent convert, having been given the 50ml tests from my mum and they lasted her 4-6 weeks (i wasn't paying that much attention, been preaching about it to her for aaaages :p ) Love the Hot Cloths but had to explain to said sister that they get washed in the machine- she was using make-up remover wipes for her eyes as she didn't want to get the cloth dirty!

I would like to eventually try the C&P and thought if I get on with it it might be more MSE to buy the tube. I am currently using a tube of cleanser at the moment and use about the size of a 2p. Would this be about the right amount for the C&P or would it be too much. I usually use my cleanser on a wet face as I use it in the shower.
