It would have been helpful to have this link

    http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-voice-Home?NODE_ID=6921

but the terms and conditions are still out of date.

    2ax, thanks for that link.

Going by the link above the offer is still available for those not taking line rental because it reads:-

Talk Plan Only - 6 Months FREE, £7.99 thereafter.
    Talk Plan + Line Rental - £9.99 1st 6 months, £17.98 thereafter
  • According to the CS lady I just spoke to the half price for 6 months is ONLY if you take the line rental as well.

Sadly while I spoke to the lady my pc chose that moment to crash so I couldn't quote the website details to her so will need to try again tomorrow when I have more time. I also have an extention number for the very helpful guy I spoke to before but I couldn't access that information either so will have it all to hand before I phone again.

    says

"This month new customers that join Talk 3 will get...:"

is that new to talktalk for new to talk3 ( or would it be for those than might have had talk3 before but cancelled ?)

In view of your comments i spoke to a Manager in the website sales support team .He contradicted the person i spoke to the other day,and said you MUST take the line rental to qualify for the six months free on talk 3 .

Sorry if i mislead you as the result of being misinformed by them,it was not intential.I will read the t&c in future.(They have promised to post the correct ones asap)

Well just got my email back:-
    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that Talk 3 for 6 months offer is available to new customers who register for both calls and line rental.

There is a 3 month contract for line rental but you are able to change your plan at any time.

If you decide to join TalkTalk you will receive one monthly bill for both your calls and line rental. We now offer you the chance to save Nectar points.

Please contact me if you require further assistance or would like to join.
It is only available to new customers and only for those taking line rental which of course mean a minimum term.

Obviously this is in complete contradiction to their website but it's not the first time and I doubt it'll be the last.
  • What is a new customer? I left about a month ago.

Beware I have had horrendous problems with talktalk recently.
I had been with them and went over to homecall but due to incompetence and lies from homecall went back to talktalk and took the line rental with them as well.
I was meant to be transfered back to them on a specific date and a couple of days after the date when I had no caller display I phoned them to be told I had not gone active with them it was still pending. Left it another couple of day and same response. After 2 weeks and about 5 hours on the phone I was referred back to Homecall who said I was not their customer tried Bt and same thing. talktalk were still saying I was not their customer.
Yet another 4 hours holding and finally someone tells me the problems have arisen because I was not BT customer . You are supposed to be with Bt or they can't take over phone. I had told them who I was with and yet noone picked up on it.
Thankfully after 6 weeks the matter has now been resolved and they are billing me. I had free calls for 6 weeks as I was with noone nobody was recording my calls. Great if you have friends in Australia . Only beef I have with them is the length of time it took to finally get an answer and the length of time I spent being sent to various departments . I spent 1 hour holding on 2 separate occasions.
Just about fell of my chair when the phone was answered within a minute by them tonight.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!
