Are you having a laugh? :confused:Do you really think that these companies - as tight as they are - really check CCTV?!?!?! And in a busy bar are going to bother trying to track down a couple of drinks out of those that are sold during the period you're there. get real! It's mystery shopping not MI5:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I used to work in a bank and i most definitely used to check the branches cctv if i thought the mystery shopper was exaggerating their waiting times...

Talking about banks. I've been doing this for some time now and yesterday had a MS job in a bank. They were obviously very short staffed. The manager was actually managing the enquiry desk and had me completing an application whilst dealing with other customers. She wouldn't pull a member of staff off the services, because of the queue. She even wanted to do a Credit Check to open a deposit account - which was refused. Sad thing is although the service was 'crap' and the manager appeared out of her depth, she was extremely friendly and apologetic. Felt sorry giving the branch a complete thumbs down!

Look on the bright side, the bank may now send in some more staff to that branch because of your report, which would be helpful for the manager. :)

  • I'm puzzled about something - not sure if this is the right place to ask - but don't know where else? Anyway, it IS related to mystery shopping.

I had to open a savings account as part of an MS job - I went along with all my ID, but in the event they never asked for it. I'm just puzzled as to why - I thought these days you had to show ID to open a new account with a bank - isn't it part of Know Your Customer? I used to work in a financial institution and we had regular training on money laundering and Know Your Customer etc. Can anyone who is up to date on this please explain why I didn't need to show ID? Thanks.

Somebody not doing the job properly springs to mind. Maybe thats why they want you to shop there, just to check.
