  • Well, I have not been able to see the 3 letter ones for 2-4 months and I only just asked because I used to go there a lot when in London but have only seen the other one near me so was not bothered but now I am on a mini break in London I fancied a change and was told I could only do one or the other for the reasons they stated. They said if thereis a deadline they have to meet then they will bend the rules, otherwise not.

Have you seen that they have hotels available in London for tonight? If you don't have a place to stay already you might be able to pick one up! I am not sure though that they are open for everyone, it might be just if you have registered with a business email address.
  • Oh poo, I do not have a business email address. *throws strop* Mind you, I am at the Hoxton Hotel tonight so very happy as it is. :D
  • Got my first assignment tomoz. Very nervous as there seems so much to do take in etc. The questionaire is quite long & i am afraid i may miss some vital info & get off to a poor start. Any tips. I just feel like i am going to stand out like a sore thumb with a list of questions hid behind the daily rag.

Just jot some notes in your bag like whats on the left & whats on the right and name server. I often text stuff on my phone if i have a lot to remember and save it there. One company has tonnes to do on a questionaire but you get used to the general requests eg:
    Always check loos
Whats on left & right of visit place
    Servers name
    Time taken to be served
Time taken for dishes to be cleared
    Is place clean

I find myself checking these even if not doing a mystery shop nowdays!

    Have fun.

Use a mobile phone for timings if exact timings are needed - you can also write a txt with descriptions and save it in your drafts. Don't forget you can always nip back in if you forget to look for something. As jb says what sort of job and we can maybe give you more precise tips?

I'm a newbie but my top tip for ms'ing depends on whether or not you can use your mobile like a dictaphone. I can send voice texts on mine so I sometimes pretend to be making a call on it.
Great for when you have to try and remeber a salesperson description or what signs etc.. were in the window

And can I say how jealous I am of everyone else. You all seem to be getting loads and loads of jobs. Finding only 1 or 2 a week I can get. Mind one week I had 4.... didn't know what to do with myself haha
  • With regards to the paperwork for 3 months, do I not have to keep the lot until I file my tax return? I have recorded all spends, fees etc on my spreadsheet, but do I need to keep the paperwork?
