mtem74, I don't know who you're with but at the moment, there's not a lot on offer on RE for a start. I'm not sure in general about Scotland but I went to Glasgow in July and kept looking for assignments to do while I was there to keep costs down and I didn't get any work there at all. Just keep trying. GAP tend to release big blocks of assignments all at once, so keep checking. I check RE 3 times a day.0

But I'm 34 and I got a lovely email off them saying that they've placed me on their records. Does this mean they'll never write, call, email??? That makes me sad.
I'm 41 and I'm with RM (Retail Maxim - right?)0 -
Gulp, nervous hello from prospective MS
Just wondering if youre all registered for tax as described on first post, and if I should do that now or try registering with a few companies first? I'm just a poor student so won't be paying any tax etc and wouldn't want it to mess up tax codes for holiday jobs etc. Thankyou!

Hi archersluck!
you HAVE to register as self employed - student or not. hope that helps! just give the number a call and they will explain it.
you have to do it even if you do just one job so you might as well do it before your life is consumed with searching for assignments every minute of every day lol!0 -
thanks crane! Me, self employed? sounds crazy! Guess I'll give them a ring tomorrow then, while I'm at home and it's not my phone bill

They must be recruiting only in the age ranges they are short of. I am decades older than this, and get regular work from them. I would ring them, if I were you, and ask if they could revitalise your membership.
There is a list of companies in post 1......Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Just a quick question but everyone seems to be doing quite a few MS's here and there. Am I just unfortunate to live in Scotland (nr Glasgow) and there's very little jobs up here? Or is it because I'm new and it takes a while for the firms to start offering more than one or 2 a month.
I check daily on all the ones I've signed up to but there never seems to be anything.
Hi I am in Glasgow as well. ( the outskirts) and I am the board female version of Billy Connolly aka Lily Connolly ( Thanks Timne) and I know there is plenty of work. If you PM me your home phone number and your name I could ring you tomorrow and give you lots of help and info. It is just it takes so long whacking PM's back and forth.Clique member no 1.:D0 -
Well how things turn around. I registered with a really good company Mystery Guest Evaluations ( I think) about February. And lo and behold got a text from them although I had forgotten all about them. Offered me a super duper shop with a very good fee.
As I told you all I have lost all my log in details etc from losing my MS'ing files and have contacted some of the companies this afternoon and they were lovely and sympathetic about it. One of them which is one of the most exacting and strict ones sent me a lovely email wishing me a good holiday and said they were so glad for me things were working out.
I would like to thank each and every one of you who have given me such support over this time.
