It's almost enough to make you buy your own petrol - and see how they like that!
Seriously, though. I wonder if Seaside Petrol know Gyp are using their paid-for contract to 'incentivise' other companies' mystery shops? I wouldn't like that if I were Seaside Petrol. As you say, it limits the shopper pool. I thought it had to be a cross section of society for the system to work. Regular burger eaters could be less demanding for all anyone knows. (No offence to regular burger eater -- not that I would imaging one would be very regular if one ate too many burgers.)Never mash cheese: it bends the fork.0 -
Seeing as there are only two Gapburgers within 30 miles of where I live it doesn't look like I'll be doing any petrol next month!!ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0

l-t-d...I know you've been burned before so I'm worried you'll get in trouble for publishing the client petrol name?
Maybe take it out?

I totally agree and you've got a good point. How can you have a totally unbiased cross section of society if your actually targeting one specific type of person. I'm doing a burger job on Saturday but it's only because I'm driving past to take DH to rugby (it's a drive through so will be dumping DD and DH on the road to wait for me - how sad is that!!!). I thought the whole idea was for us to do MSing - these should be jobs given to us not given as incentives. I mean how many burgers can one person eat0

happens all the time, drives me nuts:eek:0 -
stumbled across this by accident. I think I will have a go at MS there's no harm in trying. The article or thread or whatever you call it is well written, very informative and encouraging hence my decision to have a go at MS work. So thanks for taking the time to write it up whoever you are

I don't like TNS anymore. The coffee and pizza ones go in like 5 seconds, but the pubs and diy stores stay forever. Personally, I am thinking the Regional Controller lets people do the same visit month in month out! I am not impressed! *** What's the verdict on ASSOSSIA? I signed up recently, but everytime I get an email and call them all the jobs have gone. Is it a waste of time? Is it worth it? Discuss. *** The points thing on RE is just to monitor how well you are doing. I was told by a chap that works for RE that it is mainly to see who their good shoppers are, so if they have any urgent visits (that people might have dropped), they know who to contact if they want the job doing. If they do call and say it is urgent, he said you can ask for more money, i.e. a fiver more etc. If you have really high points it does not mean you will get better or specialist jobs. So please bear that in mind.0

with TNS I could see the pizza ones but was rejected from doing my local one as I did it in july. So I dont reckon the same people do them all the time. same with their supermarkets I have been told by my controller I wont get accepted until after I've not done it for 3 months. so I think it is just fastest finger first. I dont do bars or DIY either so only grab pizza and supermarkets. and phone calls. got my first coffee one this time round! great as you have to have hot choc this time.
with RE I dont think points mean much once you get off probation though it does show if you are reliable if they need someone urgently. whenever they have rang me I have been offered a premium. in fact the very first job I did with them (a pub) they rang to ask if I could bring the date forward and immediately offered me an extra £10 spend and extra £5 fee without me asking. that was in june.0 -
Oh and as for GAP and their petrol idea.... thats just stupid! hopefully no one will manage 5 burgers in one month (esp when you have to go alone!) and so then we can all have a fair shot at the petrol. as if! I never see petrol near me - only ever get offered it when they are begging me to go to a computer shop or for a burger. I wouldnt be happy if I was from the petrol people!0
