No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Some people are moving to Ebid.net.
I have also just heard about ibootsale.co.uk.
I am still looking into both of these myself, maybe others will be along soon to advise/comment0 -
The fact that you had to ask I think rather answers your question, if nothing came to your mind immediately then the same will be happening with the buyers.
There is a list of other auciton sites on the sticky thread 'useful tips', the next two biggest sites are ebid and Tazbar and I have accounts with both but have never sold a bean. For media items, books Cds etc Amazon is a big player, but if you don't like the ebay fees then you'll definitely not like the Amazon ones.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. theres plenty of places to sell but the number of buyers is hindering sales, tazbar, ebid, etsy(for handmade items) - alternatively if your getting rid of video games and want hassle free cash then take it down to game/gamestation/cex and others who do this solely online like cex.co.uk and tradeyourstuff.co.uk (although cex.co.uk seems to be having its fair share of complaints recently!)0

I buy alot of things locally through gumtree. It's good for furniture and items that are too big to post. I tried posting a couple of things two weeks ago and have got no takers. So it may be slowing down too. No fee thoughLindsayO

Depends on the item.
If you're want to sell online, e-commerce websites are cheap and you are in control, there's also ebid, amazon and tazbar.
Away from the internet there's the local ads, supermarket ads and Loot/Adtrader.
Amazing but true, there was a world before ebay came along..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

There are loads of "eBay-alternatives" popping up, and complete web scripts are even available as freeware if you wish to start your own!
There are a few niche sites that specialise in toys, games & electronics that seem to be doing pretty well, and this is where I think the true alternatives are likely to succeed.
This is a small list I have posted elsewhere, with sites based in the UK, and USA -

As already mentioned, EBID seems to be on the up. I've bought a few things from there and it was painless. Haven't sold anything yet but it seems to be attracting Ebayers who've had enough.
I've also sold one or two things on AMAZON. Also quite painless. 90 day listing. But you can only sell what is in their catalogue.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -

I'd be interested in the toy sites, are these included in your list? (Sorry it's abit long to trawl through on my VERY SLOW computer.

1)gumtree is owned by ebay
2) you can omly search by town, so its little wonder that postage items dont work (unless you want to search for the same thing via every town - no country wide search). As if I lived in the town of the item I would collect - not have it posted !!!!0
