    Make of PC?

Operating System (Windows XP, Vista etc.)?

Have you installed any new hardware prior to the error?

Have you installed or updated any peripheral drivers prior to the error (printer, scanner, etc.)?

Can you boot into Safe Mode?

If you can get into Safe Mode can you do a System Restore to a point prior to when the error occured?

PM me for my email address then email over the file created in C:\Windows\Minidump at roughly the time of the error message and I'll take a look at what caused it.

  • Are you unable to get into Safe Mode by pressing either F5 or F8 on start up?

Hmm. Do you have the original XP CD to hand?

If you do, a repair install might sort it out, but be aware that there are risks, so if there's any crucial data on that machine, get the hard disk out and back it up first!

Note that the problem could have been cause by viruses / malware, so as soon as you can get the computer to boot, you should think about doing a full malware / spyware scan as a precautionary measure.

    What does the error say?
It should show a string of error codes.

if you post them then we can help!
