They're really expensive as well (and dry-clean only sadly, or I'd have chucked them in the machine), but just really hideously old fashioned, dark, dirty, dusty and mouldy. Someone will probably give us a couple of quid at car boot though, because that's the sort of junk people seem to want!
Yes, but is it worth the hassle?? You've got more than enough to do as it is, so is it worth investing any time (and any electricity and washing powder) in sorting them out? Personally, I'd just chuck them out, get that extra bit of space, and not worry about the pennies they would have made in proft - you can make more than that by investing the same time in your proper e-bay stuff, or just getting rid of the storage a day earlier, or just taking a break and spending the time with your boys!0 -
We definitely need to do the car boot - there's just far too much stuff just to chuck it away, and a lot of it is worth a few quid - as well as the rubbish we've got decent curtains, rugs, lamps, bedding, clothes, vases, mirrors, baby stuff - all the sort of thing that doesn't sell well on Ebay but does great at car boot. I've already Freecycled anything too big to be worth holding on to, and I'll Ebay the valuable/postable stuff (eventually), but I do think it's worth investing a morning to try and get a couple of hundred quid, which is what we made last time and we had far less stuff then. It's not eating anything sitting in the garage, so if I skipped it there'd be no gain, plus I can't stand the thought of the waste.
Ta for the advice Bob, I could try washing the curtains and putting them on Ebay, but I think I'm better just to leave them as they are and offload them with the other junk at the car boot. I just don't have the time at the moment and even in perfect condition they're probably not worth much anyway. They're wierd, with funny pleats and things all over them, so I'll leave it to the buyer to risk washing them!0 -
Bob, haven't read your diary for ages, just noticed your sig - what sort of washing machine are you trying to get that's £900?! I've got 2 Dyson machines and they're fab, but even those were about £700 brand new (many years ago). Perhaps that's why your curtains come out so well!0

I've got a right headache - at work and just listed 14 Ebay items (that flippin challenge!), so I think that's the cause. Never mind, I'm off home in 5 minutes and straight to bed although I've just been informed that Greg is still up. Hopefully that means he'll sleep in tomorrow!
I won't be around this week as we're off on our Sun hol No 2 - sampling more of the UK in the Isle of Sheppey! Hope everyone has a good week!0 -
You'll be thanking me in the future! (maybe)
Enjoy your hols.

Sorry you've got a headache, panda - but enjoy the holiday - and think how much money floxxie has brought forward for you by getting you to do that listing! I'm .... delinquent... there's no other way to say it. I worked in the garden cos I wanted to be outside, and then I needed a bath, and then I needed to cook. So it goes.

Hope you have a good time! I am going to go look for this challenge as getting some stuff listed on ebay sounds like a really good idea. Although, I can't believe how much stuff some of you guys seem to have!!!!

We certainly do get around, a bit like the clap!
I hate days like this - we'll spend all day packing (between the stints at work), then when I finally skive off at about 6pm (supposed to be working till midnight) we've got a wonderful journey down the A1 to look forward to, with the constant chorus of 'are we there yet?', followed almost immediately by 'are we there now?'. I just hope that I'll be able to get broadband on the IoS as there seems to be a 3 broadband blackspot over every Sun Hols caravan site we've ever visited. I've got an online focus group to do tomorrow and don't really want to have to do it in the car at McDonalds! Don't suppose anybody here happens to live on the Isle of Sheppey? (Does anyone at all actually live on the Isle of Sheppey?!). I hope you're right KC about it being a Good Thing - some vibes of Good wouldn't go amiss.
I am grateful for the challenge Floxxie :A (humph:mad: ), it has certainly got me doing something I'd otherwise probably have put off until next year. It just doesn't feel like it when I'm fighting with Ebay. Anyone else had 'good till cancelled' removed as an option from some of their listings for no apparent reason?
Hayley Jane, see figures below for an idea of how I came to have quite so much stuffMost of it was bought for re-sale on credit cards, but I just never really bothered with the 'resale' part of it. Still no baba? Good luck if it happens while I'm away.
