Morning PP,
Have been reading your thread but not posting - major guilt trip thinking that I should be eBaying the 2000+ items I have but of course spent more time more time faffing about the steps to posting the items but of course have done bu**er all. Think it might have been the sheer volume of the task that has overwhelmed me so I have a new plan..well actually it is one that a friend of mine uses to get rid of her stuff. I promise that I am going to list 10 items a day. There now I have said I have to do it. Going to join me? (I hate eBay, I hate eBay but want rid of my stuff for dosh)

... which I'm estimating is somewhere in the region of 2,000 items, which are actually worth money ...
Good luck with the plan to shift the stuff and get rid of the storage unit! Listing 2000 items must be a real pain - would it be worth trying to get rid of some of it as a job lot to someone else. At least that way you wouldn't be spending your life packing up parcels and dealing with customers, and you'd get your money in one go rather than waiting for it to come in dribs & drabs (which costs money itself all the time you've got debt sitting on cards). Have you found that the changes to the ebay shop charges are affecting you? I've heard elsewhere that people are closing their shops down now that costs are going up.0 -
Grrr, I hate you lot! You KNOW I can't resist a challenge!
Right, 10 a day it is. I'm not looking forward to it though. Floxxie, (hi! good to see you around!) what's the 2000+ items you've got? PM me if you want - perhaps we can help each other with any advice to get shot of some of it! I'm going to sign up for your challenge as soon as I've done this.
Tyllwyd, hello again as well! A lot of it could be job-lotted, and I'll probably do that with kids things and lingerie - I've had mixed success in the past with lots but will see how I get on. For me, the new shop thing is fantastic news - listings are actually visible again! I've already noticed more interest on the few things that I have got listed so I think that as soon as I do list the stuff it should shift.
Hypno...don't accidentally Ebay that breadmaker along with all the tat in the dining room!0 -
Hi PP,
I don't mid posting what my items are becuase it will take me so long to get around to listing them that any wierdos who wish to stalk me will have long forgotten about it!! (Not that I am paranoid on this forum at all - lol)
I have inherited vintage train sets, toy cars, stamps, cigarette cards, Lego, Action Men, games, soldiers, tools, glass, pottery, silver, furniture, cameras and then my own household things of children's clothes and toys. Just one of those catagories when split up with amount to 500 listings although should bring in some good money!
Part of my problem is that I need to be able to know what I am selling so that takes time researching and of course if I don't know where to start it gets put back in the box again.
Just putting that list down is depressing but a few years ago I did make a start on it and cleared £13k profit. I hadn't got a life at the end of it and couldn't touch it again for a few years but it was great cash!
Looking forward to challenging you ont eh 10 a day (when you can open the cupboard!)

My god, £13k!!! Fantastic - mind you, I can understand you feel sick of it.
