Only problem I can see is I dont like potatoes so Im going to have to either
learn to like them
or swop them for something else (well if I can persuade my friend to swop them anyway LOL)
Will the box company not do substitutes for items you don't likeFarmaround will do that, if you ask. We ask for no potatoes as we often have enough HG ones.
There's a flush of veg box threads atm. The most recent is here - Meat and veg boxes. It contains links to several other threads.

I have nectarine envy! That's a great deal Fizzel - my first box came tonight and for £15 I got:-
lettuce leaves - small bunch
green beans
2 small courgettes
vine cherry tomatoes
3 carrots
3 onions
enough new potatoes for 1 dinner!
4 small oranges
3 apples
4 bananas
I expect it'll all taste great but it's not enough to last 3 adults for a week. It's pricey and I'm a bit disappointed - I will continue the search, you'd think because I live in Ayrshire with lots of lovely farmland that sourcing a box would be easy.....0 -

No they said they couldn't as the boxes are already made up so they get the best prices for you or something
Mind its due here today so we'll see what I get. To be honest I haven't tried potatoes in a good few years so there may possibly be a chance I might like them after all this time, failing that Ill just give them to my friend , her and her hubby eat tons of potatoes so they wont go to waste

Possibly you could start a *favourite potato recipe* thread :T
Alternatively, I came up with these threads when I did a search.

i would like to look into a scheme, tried able and cole they dont do my area, any ideas? i know its going to cost a little more but im hopeing it will encourage a better choice of fruit/veg in my house

have you tried Wyndhams Farm in St Mary Bourne (I think it's out that way). I'm not sure if he does veg boxes yet, but it's the farm you get PYO from. Can't think of the proper name of the farm, but the farmer is called Wyndham!
I'll check with the family down there and let you know if you like. I'll also ask if they have a veg box scheme they know of.
Editted to add:
I think it may be called Wyke Down, but I'll confirm"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper
