I'd advise people NOT to buy the item from Argos, although the description doesn't say so, the picture shows the Mega Pak, so it's not the same product.
Virgin have been clever about this - but I guess that's what you pay solicitors for!
What it doesn't state is how long this "offer" is valid for.0 -
IMPORTANT NOTE
THE BUNDLE IS EXCLUDED FROM ARGOS' 16 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
so unless it is faulty you cant bring it back.
Ive got one reserved in birmingham not sure whether to get it or not.
there is also this http://www.additionsdirect.co.uk/additions/product.asp?brand=additions&cat%5Fid=0&extra=&mscs_sid=Q610G9KMNLBW9PWQ58QBC682DPK59JM6&prod_id=199056&offer_id=199056Z
but it is priced at £129.99 but you can return it as long as seal not broken
"Once the seal is broken these items are non-returnable"
surely this applys to argos as well?0 -

it was the mega pak tescos and woolies had pictured on their sites, that is the one that is out of stock(except argos) amazon are selling the new pak not what i think virgin offered. thats why its a clever offer the only place selling is selling above rrp! catch 220 -
I have spoken to Virgin Customer services on the phone and explained I was a bit unsure as to the 'bundle' as there was no picture on the website and asked for details. She told me it had to include a console, controller and memory card plus it had a release date of the 12th November 2004.
The only one I can find is the bundle at Amazon (I know this is different to the one I ordered) but it fits the description and has the same release date so I will see what happens when I send off my claim. Can always refuse delivery ???Nice to save.0 -
I just phoned virgin and they confirmed that it is the one that Argos and game sell. She said the black box bundle. I am getting mine from Argos in Bath, they have copies in stock.0

That bundle from Amazon seems the most likely bet to me. I'm going for it!!0 -

I will say this...I take my hat off to Virgin. They have complied exactly with the letter of the law, namely that they will offer to pay you for loss of bargain up to RRP (to expect loss of bargain above RRP just won't wash in court as this would allow any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry to open up shop to sell this product at vastly above RRP in order to rip-off Virgin in an unlimited fashion). You really couldn't expect them to do more than that - it also demonstrates the faith that they are placing in their own position - namely that the product is no longer available.
Anyone still complaining really isn't living in the real world.
I, for one, certainly WILL be purchasing from Virgin again, assuming their pricing is keen.
I will also be willing to take a punt on getting a rebate on an alternative product if I can find one (even if it's above £89.99) as it's not a very expensive product and I *was* looking to buy something for my nephew & niece at any rate and this would be a really great present.
RMFor anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.0 -
Do you think its ok to order the new bundle from amazon?
Dont want to end up stranded. Its the same package right? Just reboxed.0 -
I think they have been quite crafty here. They know that stocks of this are V limited and their email states it has to be the 'exact' product. Have only manged to find it at Argos at the price of £109.99
I think that these will be selling like hot cakes if anyone finds one!!0 -
Just for peace of mind - anyone ordering from amazon between at the moment has until 31st January to return the item - its a policy they have for Christmas for people ordering early - so a 60 day return period.
I'm trying it.0
