    Thanks for the further replies.

Today my sons started compiling an email they plan to send, stating that they've changed their minds about any contact, apologising for any confusion, but have rebuilt a happy life here, and just want to get on with that, and suggest they do the same there. Their initial reaction was to tell them to go take a jump off a long pier, however I insisted that they don't react nastily, but have to be concise and firm, but polite. I want them to have a good think about it before it is finally sent.

They have even been laughing about some of the odd things my in-laws have got up to, and joked about it with me today. I think my 14 y/o is just glad I didn't pack his bags and ask him to get out, and relieved that I am still talking to him and giving him hugs. He even baked us all a cake today.

As for the things kids put on the internet, fortunately he only had 4 pics of himself on there (quite fuzzy ones too), but he'd not gone through the options of keeping his info undisclosed. I've seen some of his friends pages and the girls seem to find the most suggestive poses, in the skimpiest clothing, and they all give so much info away about themselves, and their friends it's scary. I even have our PC in the living room so we can see what they're doing, but since we went to wireless, instead of accessing the internet via our internet provider, where there were parental controls set he had to use, they've now been able to use mozilla firefox or internet explorer. I need to look into how they can be restricted, if they can.

Thanks for the PM's I've received, I know there are other mums/dads out there who have weathered much worse storms than me, but I love my boys so much I can't bear to think that these nasty people could weedle their way back into our lives.

That's wonderful news, sarymclary, you must be so relieved not to mention proud of all your kids.

    Hey Sary,

Well done for dealing with this sensitively. If their Dad's relly's have ANY decency, they will respect this decision until the kids are at least 18.

It'll be massively hard but try not to say anything unkind about them (relly's) even if you know it to be soooo true.

You've done your explaining, now you can put this behind you for the time being and carry on with being the fab Mummy you sound.

Head over to the Techie board: there may already be an answer to that question over there.
