Miscarriage - what to expect?

  • I'm so sorry to hear that your going through this, I had a miscarriage in February two weeks after finding out I was pregnant. It was all over so quickly. I started with some light bleeding and was booked in for an ultra sound but I already knew the pregnancy wasn't going to continue. The scan confirmed I was having an ectopic pregnancy and I had to stay in hospital over the weekend to see if the sac would discharge naturally. I was so relieved when it did the thought of having to have a procedure on top of everything was just too much for me.

I'm still coming to terms with it now and have for the miscarriage forum on the daily strength website to have been incredibly helpful, much like this site.

Sorry to hear of your problem. Had two missed miscarriages myself - and I think you would be wise to go with the D&C. I bled for a little afterwards - but not as much as I had been up until - and I believe that sometimes the placenta can be very stubborn about not coming away so that you can bleed for a long time.

It is an emotionally painful experience, but I think you start to really move on once the D&C is over and you cannot "pretend" in any part of you anymore.

    Good luck, and big hugs.

    Hiya

Just found this... only thing I can say is.. if it is a miscarriage.. take the D&C as soon as you can get one. It was most unpleasant for me and I never wish to see what I saw then, ever again.

    Good luck Gbaby xxxx
