Not " Ignorance " just plain fact.

I have. Home Basic runs just fine. Any other edition has a minimum of 1GB. So I fail to see your point. Of course running something on *less* than it is meant to is going to run slow.

And remember 3GB of RAM will only run in single channel unless you're running 64bit operating system,

Rubbish. It only runs in single channel mode if you're using 3 DIMMS. I run 2x1GB and 2x512MB and it runs in dual channel.

Still probably cheaper than buying all of the components required to get the bloated Vista to run properly.;)

What are you prattling on about you clueless gimp?

Which is what I meant, because 3GB usually would come in 3 DIMMS

try running it under emulation on a PS3 then.

a day to install, 25mins to boot, 5mins to open the start menu, 12mins to open notepad.....

.....and i thought my dads 800mhz computer ran xp slowly :p :rotfl:

I'd hardly say that demonstration is any way to benchmark Vista.
