Just done the ironing and put some washing in. Still have a load of jeans to wash and dishes to do. ho hum.
I am on rightmoeve 24/7 looking at houses in our area - i'm a bit obsessed. Can't believe the prices have gone down but they're still so out of reach. It is depressing living with your parents in your twenties but we're not the only onesOne of my dad's friends is 47 and still lives with his mam! Though I don't know why because he has enough money in the bank to buy a whole string of houses so it must be his choice

I'd love nice food now

I rented for one of the years I was at uni, and to be honest I hated it. Not the being away from home obviously, I just hate the fact that it feels like you're throwing loads of money away. I want to be able to decorate, and I absolutely HATED the inspections we used to get every month (was a private landlord). I mean, they already had £2000 of our money in deposit, what the hell were we going to do damage wise that cost more that £2000 to repair? I really didn't like having someone look around all of our stuff...Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
47! It feels like that's the way I'll be heading at the moment. Gah! As a bit of motivation though, apparently every £1 you save for a deposit saves you £2 in interest in the long run. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470

^I read that somewhere a few months ago actually. I'll definitely be overpaying like crazy once I have my own place! eta: about the savings/interest saved.
That's exactly how I feel about renting. I've never lived away from home, partly for that reason... As much as I value independence, I'd rather suffer living at home and save the money.0 -
I am supposed to have 6 monthly inspections but i have had one in 38 months which suits me fine!
EDIT: Me and OH have spent £20540 on rent in our house since we moved in!!!
I am off for a lie down, can't resist any longer, be back on laterNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I am renting and i don;t like it but i am lucky that i rent from a housing association and it is cheaper by a lot the private renting also i can decorate but up shelves etc. even big stuff and get pet with written permission and they have said yes to everything so far. i also have right to buy which means i can buy at any time and i get a 10% discount from the market value. Also i get 2 week rent break at christmas and 2 weeks in april which is fab:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

I think we're in the same boat CL, the best thing for me to do is live at home as long as I can. It's so annoying, because our parents generation have done so well out of price rises there are so many people like us who are really, really struggling.
When my parents bought our house originally it was about £50,000 in 1992/3ish, could you imagine having that little to pay off? Even accounting for inflation it would be good. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
You're so lucky Jen, I think the only thing I could do to get somewhere like that would be to have loads of kids or something lol. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470
