yes I have a second job. It is the only way to clear things up at the moment. If being debt free is a priority then short term fatigue will payoff!THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0

Over 25 years ago, when I was early 20s I did 3.
1] Full time, in an office as a PA
2] Evenings, tele-canvassing for double glazing
3] Weekends, till on a garage forecourt
There was no minimum wage back then, and income tax was at 33% so it was harder to make a 2nd job worthwhile, which is why I had 3. And that was with no debts. I did the 3 just to get by.
All 3 of my jobs were sat on my bum, so not as hard as standing up jobs.0 -

I've done bar work, pizza deliveries, and waitressing in the past. I'm now doing an office cleaning job for a couple of hours every evening. It's hard work especially as I work full time but it's knowing that I clear my debts quickly which is keeping me going and I'm meeting people at the same time.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

This is interesting - sounds a lot for clearing out your old tat - surely you must buy a lot of tat or stuff to have enough to sell and make 200 a month?0 -
I did two jobs for about 18 months, in order to clear our credit card debt of nearly £5,000. I worked Mon-Fri in an office as a PA, and at weekends, I did the same type of work, but for a private family, 12hr days (8am-8pm) sorting out an overflowing office and 25 years(!!) worth of paperwork, filing/shredding as appropriate. It was tough, because it did mean missing out on time with Mr P, but while I worked weekends (I had 2 weekends off over the course of a whole year - even my some of my days off from my 1st job were spent at my 2nd!), he took on all the housework/cooking/cleaning. It was teamwork and it worked for us - so much so, that I even kept working a bit longer after clearing the debt and it paid for a 2 week holiday to Florida for us!

I agree with the others who have posted, it gave me a real buzz to pay extra off the credit card each month, seeing the total and the interest decrease each month. For short term discomfort, it was worth it in the long run...

OH and I both have jobs in addition to our full time work, and always have had - in fact at one time we each had 3 or 4 jobs including full time jobs - sometimes it has been just to get by (like when interest rates were 16%), sometimes to get extras like holidays, and now it is so that we can clear the debts as much as we can.
So, it is a matter of how much do you want rid of the debt - if you are happy to coast along and take more time to clear it, then no need for a second job. If you want rid of it as soon as possible so you can ultimately spend more time with your partner, then a second job will help that cause hugely.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I currently offer my photography skills, which is good because it can fit in around my family. I photograph weddings mainly, but also make sales of prints through a website, can earn £600 a month extra in summer months.
In the past I have done 3 jobs at once. I worked full time in an office, then went to do cleaning job for a couple of hours and I worked for an agency on days off, mainly doing work in restaurants/hotels etc. I really needed the money. At first it was to pay rent as i didnt want to live at home, then I saved up for a trip to Australia. I was so tired, didnt have a day off for months.
The agency I did catering for was great because you didnt need any experience and they used to cover football matches (selling from the bar), so you often got to watch most of the match too. When I worked in a hotel with them, you got tips or to keep the shampoo people left behind.
In the past I have done ebay too, but lost motivation for it now.0
