Choosing car on Motability-No idea!

Thanks for your input this far guys:T We are under the impression that my dad won't need a wheelchair, as long as the car is not tiny he will be ok -he's a big chap.
Really have my heart set on Aygo, but people I have spoken to say that 5 seats are better, and when they have had 4 they hated it
Will have a look at theother cars mentioned. I should say though, that as this is the first car I'm going to drive I want it to look "nice", oh and my daughter (7yr old) will occasionally be a passenger, so it needs to be safe
Thanks
Wallbash- thanks, but my dad has left it in my hands. As long as he can get in and out then he doesn't mind what make it is. Obvioulsy hen I have a couple in mind I will take him to view them and test them out. But overall the decision is mine0 -

RSA Motability will cover drivers from 16, one of the two designated drivers has to be over 25.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
Pick a car then have a look here for some general advice on the pros and cons

What about considering the Skoda Fabia, Tazzababe? I've got an Octavia, my second, and it's great. Skodas are now far, far better than they used to be, very reliable and come with lots of extras. There's also plenty of room in the Fabia, for a small car, if that makes sense, and since it had its facelift, looks quite nifty too.0

As said in an earlier post anyone under 25 would have to be a named driver.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Skodas were never bad in the past. They've made cars for over 100 years (something few car manufacturers can claim today), and have had many wins in rallying in years gone by - a sport where reliability and durability are important. People just made jokes about them because they were cheaper - sort of like my car's better than yours badge snobbery.
I'll bet you never owned or been in one of the older pre-vw involvement Skodas (1992 and earlier [although 93 on Favorits and Felicias were mostly Skoda design])?0 -

Do you really need a new car? You might be better just buying an older less expensive car and banking your dad's DLA.
Motability don't actually give you anything free. It's basically a leasing scheme, whereby you give up your DLA to pay most of the leasing costs. You are still financing the car.
It depends whether your dad needs the DLA more than he needs a new car. Missile's suggestion of a slightly older car could be more cost-effective and might suit your dad's situation better, I don't know. I'm just saying it should be considered.0 -
