I don't see the point in spending loads on maternity wear - but it depends on how smart you need to be at work. For my first-born I bought a whole load of baggy joggers from ASDA, at about £4 a pair, and they got me through fine. Most of my existing tops still fitted OK. This time round (I'm currently 19 weeks) I'm thinking that I might have to find something smarter for work, but I'll still probably just look at the stuff in Tesco that's a few sizes larger than my current size. I can't afford to spend a lot for clothes that I'll never wear again.

On that point, maternity wear is quite popular on ebay, especially things by Blooming Marvellous etc, so if you do have to buy a few nicer pieces think about that option if you are not planning on stashing them for your next!

I've found it a bit difficult to stay in my normal clothes as I'm not a smock top type of a person and don't own any!!! Most of my regular clothes are quite a fitted style and therefore aren't suitable for the bump!

I've bought several "long" vest tops from sainsburys. They are about £4 each (although I got some in the sale at just £2!)
Plus a couple of pairs of trousers for work from debenhams and mothercare.

Problem ahead as I'm 19 weeks now and have 2 weddings coming up in September and October! That's definitely going to call for a new dress!!
