Thanks, I'm hoping they will understand the situation, I've just heard they will try and be as by the book as possible, all I want is a reasonable outcome....

I hope i'll be posting with a positive result.

So long as you speak to them first thing they can't have done anything with your order. If you have a problem telephone their head office in Doncaster.

OK So after a few phone calls to and fro they finally conceded and canceled the order, result!

I would say though, if I wasn't quite so adament and strong willed to get the reult I wanted I could eaily be sat here with a contract I didn't want.

Also when I got to DFS the order had not gone through, so after they heard my complaints they quickly put my order through, which I felt was highly suspect!
  • First post after signing up, so hi everyone. Hope this is the right forum for this...

My wife bought me a Paul Smith shirt for my birthday (lucky me!). It looked amazing in the package, but as soon as I wore it I realised a major problem. It creases ridiculously easily. Within an hour or two of putting it on it looks like it hasn't been ironed at all. I've worn it twice and now it is just hanging in my cupboard. It is such a massive dissapointment.

I've emailed Paul Smith customer services but not got any response. Not sure what I was hoping for anyway. In my ideal situation I'd get the money back, but I can't see that happening. So what do you think? Is it worth me pursueing this, or am I just wasting my time?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

Write to them and tell them that you are rejecting the shirt under the Sale of Good Act as being 'not suitable for purpose' viz, it creases unduly.

You don't say how much the shirt cost but you have to decide if you want to pursue this through the court if necessary.

  • I hope i have the right forum page here ?

    This is what wrong .
I have had a PS3 for two years now and now has a fault ,I have called sony and they say it will cost me £150 to fix with Sony.
Its a comman fault down to silver sloder being used on the Grapic/card ,and when the PS3 gets hot the sloder heats and melts causing the fault.
I have called an local non Sony repear man and he has stopped fixing them as he could re-fix only for it to happen again in a few months.

Were do i stand with my rights on this ? as i did see Martin L on TV talking about how things ie; goods should last a resonable amount of time .

Any help would be great or a push in which way i can go with this

After 2 years you would have to obtain technical evidence that the fault is inherent in order to pursue a case in the court. Have you spoken to the retailer you bought the unit from as it is their responsibility and not Sony's.

I feel 2 years in not unreasonable for one of these devices.

    BTW, what is a sloder?

They mean solder , but I think you knew that:D

I cannot see it being that as silver solder has a very much higher melting point than normal, (lead based), solder.

  • Sorry solder :o ,thanks for you help,i am going give Sony the bad news ,back soon

You may be entitled to a repair but not a refund. As you've had it for more than 6 months it is up to you to prove the unit is faulty before HMV need do anything.
