Not only that, but if you write a particularly good review (in general) and get a crown, you get an additional 1500 miles (as long as your review isn't in Archive or Speakers' Corner).

So writing quality is worth it, and reading around is worth it (as members can nominate your reviews for crowns, though it is entirely dooyoo's call as to which reviews to award crowns to).

mattygroves I would like to apologise to you for yesterday. I can understand were you are coming from and that you are looking out for other dooyoo members. I went into this blindly and never looked into it properly before starting. I basically ran before I could walk. No excuse I know.

I have messaged some guides and long term members and asked them for help and assistance. So hopefully I can become a valued member of the site and community.

Like I said I can understand were you were coming from and will make sure I follow the rules strictly from now on. Thanks for your advice and guidance.

Don't worry about necessarily reading back those that read you. Just read on topics that interest you. If they're written by people that read you, then consider that a double bonus! The important thing is that reviews are rated honestly, according to usefulness, by community members. The actual author of the reviews is unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

I have been really enjoying myself on there today. I am also guilty of rushing in and have been taking time to improve reviews since, plus i discovered the comments feature and got some great advice off a guide too. The points is more of a bonus now, i do love writing, and reading some of the reviews, there are some great ones on there!

I don't advise this action as a matter of course, but if you've put the work in to updating a review, I don't think it's impolite to ask people to take another look at your reviews...

I will counter that with the fact that no-one should be striving for 100% VUs. That shouldn't be possible. If the rating system on Dooyoo was a numeric one, rating reviews from 1 to 10, would all of your reviews be 10 out of 10? However, if you are new to the site and want to add a little more, tidy up your reviews, improve the flow etc. then go for it!

Just in case anyones waiting for a redemption, I requested amazon vouchers on 31st Dec and got them emailled to me today, so they are clearing the backlog.

Its good to see so many people on here talking about dooyoo and not just how to make money out of it, I've not been particularly active over the last 12 months but have found myself getting back in to it and really enjoying it again, so thank you to you lot for giving me a nudge to get my bum in gear and start reading around more again rather than just keeping up with alerts which interested me.

I've noticed that on here (and other forums) people sometimes mention how many reviews another dooyoo user has read- is there a way of viewing how many reviews you (or another user) have read, as opposed to how many you or they have rated?
